Anyone having USPS problems with timely delivery?

Be glad that your package actually arrived at all, they have lost three of my deliveries in the past four months.

I ordered a cue from an AZ'er in NY. He shipped it out on 2/28. It was supposed to arrive on 3/2. Haven't seen it yet. USPS has shown it enroute to a sorting facility since the 28th. I open a case on it, they said they would call me. They didn't. I had to call tonight... They said they consider it lost. File a claim.

Terrible Service!

I will now request and use FedEx for all my shipments.

yes yes yes

i got my name in the local newspaper for being "confused" as to how usps click & ship works

Sent a special order slim butt Schon ebony STL1 to AZ last year from WI, dissappeared for two weeks, finally showed up in Colorado out of the blue finally, and then got to my client. Not cool, thankfully my client new I was trustworthy, it puts a sick feeling in your gut when you do all you can to provide service and a 3rd party makes you look bad. FedEx all the way now, even though they have broke a Jacoby Edge shaft in half that was shipped to another AZ member. If he wants to chime in I'd love to hear about his experience.

You're lucky you got it back, there's are a bunch of Schon fans here in Colorado,
and some of them work at the general mail facility

Lol, don't mark box Schon!!

Lol, glad it got to my client. I have heard Schon is big in Colorado. As a dealer I've been meaning to ask Evan and John lately did they make a micarta inlay cue that was shipped out of the states prior to their stoppage of ivory use, they must have? Evan told me his micarta looked better then ivory and stopped a Price increase this year that would of otherwise happend if they still used ivory. Deanoc can back me up, Schon sells more $2500 cues worldwide annually than anyone. So much for production not being a hit....

Thanks for all the replies gentlemen, I'm sorry to say
that it doesn't look like I'm the only one that's having
issues with USPS. Some of these stories are far
worse than mine and a few of the stories are absolute
nightmares.

I tracked my package again this morning and after no
updates since 3-6 @ 12:39 AM, it was finally updated
in California today, 3-10 @ 3:43 AM. Finally, another
update, 99 hours later(over 4 friggin days).

At least it looks like it will get delivered today, I was in
fear of the worst, like a lost package that some of you
guys unfortunately experienced in the past. Hopefully,
it will be delivered by today or tomorrow and there's no
damage. I will update after my package delivers. I'll go
get my refund of $92.50 tomorrow if all goes well with
the rest of the delivery.

Honestly, I will most likely still be using USPS for my
shipments. For almost 2 years, I had no issues to speak
of. It has only been the last few weeks since I started
having these problems. If this continues into the future,
then I may start using FedEx. No way I'll ever use UPS, I
despise them...lol.

Thanks again for all the comments, hope things get better
for all of us on shipping and receiving.

Shipped a gift to Philippines and usually can track it Priority mail but it was in a small flat rate box and found out they don't track them so who knows where it is and I could be out the $250 the item was worth.

The flat rate priority boxes are only good for inside the United States. Once it leaves US soil, they no longer track it the same way it's tracked inside the US.

I sent my brother in Chicago an Xmas gift end of November, never arrived, that was first.

I had a cue that I sent to the states sit in NYC for 9 days or something.

Seemingly USPS have a new ground crew, it was Chinese new year, and of course the weather over the last month. The perfect recipe for big delays. I am ready to send two more cues, but I am waiting for news that these delays are sorted out, it was a stressful experience to say the least!!!

I would rather have USPS handle my packages than UPS,
Always on time to the door. Cant say that for UPS, in 20 years they have delivered 2-3 packages, and I have to go pick them up at there station.
I am very specific when ordering, send it USPS, they deliver

UPS have been known to have issues with packages Lol

It all worked out in the end

My delayed shipment was definitely weather related. My
package got there a few days late, but it was delivered,
no damage, and I got a $75 refund.

Even though this thread was created to question timely
deliveries of USPS, I must now give credit where credit is
due. Once my package was received, a package was
sent USPS Express Mail to me. It was guaranteed to be
here Friday by 3PM, but it arrived a day early and now I
have to thank USPS instead of questioning them...lol. All's
well that ends well, both parties are pleased with their end
of the deal and now it's on to the next cue deal...haha.

I would still be interested in reading more shipping stories,
positive or negative, whether it be USPS, FedEx, UPS, etc.

Thanks for sharing your stories and experiences, looking
forward to reading more.

As a letter carrier for 11 years after retiring from the NYPD as a sergeant I can tell you the USPS is run by idiots. The supervisors have no clue. All they care about is cutting overtime. New carriers are being hired at $15 a week with no benefits and usually last a couple of weeks so there's a big turnover. While my day off guy is a regular who's been there a while when I call in sick or am on vacation the substitutes are terrible and it's unbelievable how much of the mail on my route is misdelivered. I don't blame them, I blame management for making them work so hard for so little pay. They might as well work at MacDonalds!!

I agree 1000%

Well, think I just received an answer/explanation from someone I know and trust within my local PO system that makes sense.

I was trying to check on a delayed package myself and was asking why it's more common for them to have delays now....I mean, we all understand bad weather, storms, etc., but that doesn't explain the continued spotty service from USPS that has been ongoing since November.

Well, my CI (lol) told me that in addition to last fall, in January they did a consolidation again, where some processing facilities were phased out and transferred elsewhere. So her thoughts were that depending on where the package is coming from or going to, you might see some normal delivery times and some that would run late. The consolidated workflow is probably creating log jams in certain facilities like we see during the peak xmas holiday season, and since these changes are permanent, it is likely these issues will persist.

Remember, priority mail is NOT a guaranteed service, only estimated. But for years they have been so good at getting things there right on their estimated time, that we all probably feel like it's been guaranteed.

It would be a safe approach to not expect priority mail to be 2-3 days anymore. I would add in some extra time. And if you are shipping something that really needs to be where it's going in a couple of days, use the express mail option. It is guaranteed and from my experience lately, is still being handled in the manner it's always been. If they are late, you will be refunded your money/shipping cost.

FYI, the cue I was waiting for was shipped priority from MO to TN on Monday, receipt showed expected delivery in 2 days, and it arrived on Sat. So it arrived the morning of the 5th day.

Hope this info helps all....

mailed a check, return of a deposit, from ohio to texas on 2/14
2/28 he still didnt get it
i got the feeling from him that he thought i was bullshitting him

stopped payment on that check
mailed another
took 9 business days to get there

still no sign of the 1st check

I sent a cue to Eraj in NJ 3/9 and he shipped one to me here in TX same day. Mine was estimated to deliver 3/11 and his was expected to deliver 3/12. I finally got mine yesterday 3/14 and he still hasn't received mine yet. I'm hoping that it delivers to him on Monday. I want to blame the weather but it hasn't been bad this past week.

Yes - three days late and damaged. The cuemaker sent it to me express 2 day. It took 5 days. He also packed it with a very heavy cardboard tube inside the triangle box. If he hadn't - my expensive cue would have been badly damaged. A big than you to Chad McLellan - Camcues.
