anyone know billy ray?

Billy Ray

That dude is from California, been around a long time. Terry Osborne knows him. I cannot remember his real name. There was a thread on here a year ago or so with photos from a tourney at some pool hall in California and there was a photo of Billy Ray from the 70's. He came through Arizona a couple years ago. He still plays pretty good, but lives a rough life. That guy never smiles either.

About a year ago he was in Sacramento Ca. hung around for a month havnt seen him since, Ironic we were just talking about him last week around here.

Ray Suden. He used to play at California Billiards which used to be about 500 yards from where I'm sitting right now. His father used to play there as well.

Suden or Suda? He came through WI around 6 monthes after Basavich around 8-9 years ago. Plays unreal and was wanting to gamble real high. Played 5 sets with a local, race to 11 for a good chunk, and I swear held back even after running two different 8 packs. What a gear.

If he put together 2 8-packs while on the stall, he's either the worst hustler in the history of the game, or the best player on planet Earth.

Billy was always a little up and down as a player. If he had the best of it, he might run over you. But if he had a tough game, he could start to dog it. I saw him do both.

Hmmm... not sure that I've seen the same Billy Ray play if he happened to play that good. He plays good, but you must be talking about a bar table or something.

Sounds like a pretty normal pool player to me.

LMAO!!!!!!!!

Billy had some epic money matches with Keith back in the 70s at Hard Times in Costa Mesa. Keith gave him the call seven, but Keith was spotting almost everyone something back then.
Billy Ray was quite a money player.

he was in galesburg friday. he ran me over and i never had a chance to catch a gear. he has an open invitation to go to peoria. just looking forward to him matching up.

Speaking of Peoria, does anybody have the final tally with Bobby and Fargo? Is that who Billy Ray is supposed to play? If so, Bobby sure does have a tough dance card.:)

Doginthe9/ Craigmac

Bobby lost a couple dimes to Fargo they are suposed to match up again in a week or so. Fargo is up in Chicago again he won 80,000 grand at the casino boat last night:eek: damn the luck. As of last night we called down to Red SHoes in Chicago and Fargo was on his way there to play 5k a set banks 1 handed with Watusse Slim, Piggy Banks was in action as well.

Billy ray was still at Billiards on Main last night Mark played him some short rack banks Doric played him some cheap 9-ball. I would have liked to see you 2 play a rematch 9-ball is his game but ive seen you take down some Big players as well, he will be in town for a while he just had surgury.

Andy Quin is ain Kankakee i wonder if Tony will be Matching up with him soon:confused:

Billy Ray came through LA & stopped in the Golden Cue in Rosemead in 78/79. He beat me out of a little $$ and I ran into him after hours at the original Hard Times in Costa Mesa. He was just starting to play Keith getting the 7 & came up to me and asked if I wanted a piece. I told him no and he was offended and told me I was stupid because nobody in the country could give him the 7. Keith beat him a 7 ahead set in less than an hour. He could be a jerk sometimes, but he could play. I did see him beat Keith on a bar table with a similar spot. John Henderson

road player. hear he play's pretty good.

His style of play makes him easy to recognize. Holds his head up high and a very stiff looking stroke, but he gets the job done. John

I forgot an incident at Hard Times in Costa Mesa with Billy Ray and myself in about 1977. At about midnight we played a game of straight pool to 100 points for a hundred bucks or so. Billy lost and had no money, and said sorry he would pay me later.
My friend Ron and I both knew that we would never collect, and so Ron told him off and called him a low-life, etc.
Billy seemed somewhat relieved that he wouldn't have to pay off.
