Anyone see this player in Vegas?

Not looking to knock anyone's action here, but I'm just curious if anyone knows who this is. I was watching him play and thought he had an awesome stroke and all around great cue ball.

Young guy, maybe late 20's early 30's, tall, maybe 6'0-6'3, somewhat lanky. Fair skin, dark short hair, maybe slightly combed back, neck chain. Supposedly from Iowa, and possibly named Jamie?

I saw him playing with Kenny Brisbon some 9 ball the last night of the 8-ball finals in Vegas in the Mini room. It was late at night, maybe 1 am, and he seemed to be getting the better of Kenny.

I thought he shot a great game. I know I've seen him around before, maybe at Valley Forge. Any ideas?

I was one of the refs working that room that night. I heard they were playing 500 a set and Kenny was getting the better of the cheese. One of the other refs was watching more closley so I could ask him. Kenny is certainly one strong player.

There was a fellow by the name of Jamie who played at Chris's in Chicago on Sunday night, 9 ball handicapped tournament. First time at Chris's. Someone said he was from Minnesota. He fits the description of the original poster. Snapped the tournament off. Nobody really had a chance. He was underhandicapped... the TD put him in as a 7, then bumped him to an 8, then a 9. IMHO, that fellow should have been, at least, 9-5...

Yeah, I liked his game. Kenny is no slouch either, but I felt Jamie's cueball control was on a higher level. I know I saw Jamie win at least one set.

Anyway-great player.

...likes to bet big, EXCEPT with MikeinIowa! Funny how no matter how big a dawg ya are, there's always a BIGGER dog...often right in your own backyard! :D

Flex...That was probably Jamie Baraks at Chris's. He plays WAY stronger than Jamie Fenton, and I believe lives in the Quad Cities area. JB is Mark Wilson's son.

Defintely not Jamie Baraks. I've seen him play, and there are plenty of pics on AZ of him. The Jamie at Chris's is taller and larger than Baraks. Also their strokes are way different.

Gambling? I thought the APA had a strict no gambling rule at any of their events? With disqualifications in order. Am I miss informed?

he will flip for the $$$$, set it up we'll do it at a half time show at one of your matches, just some friendly 5-10 dime a flips until someone cant stand it any longer, i'm ready, screw pool its too much work.

Scott,

My initial thought was that it was Jamie Baraks, but I looked him up on AZ and it definitely was not him.

As for gambling in the APA, it is not allowed. However, I sincerely doubt that either or any of the gambling parties went up to the TD's desk and let them know that they would be gambling:rolleyes: Don't ask don't tell?

They weren't gambling, 500 marshmellows a set.....:deadhorse: :deadhorse:

They were wagering -- gambling implies luck... :D

Jamie's (Fenton) stroke is real loose. big movements.

Baraks' has a stroke that makes me wish I could play pool - poetry in motion, a gorgeous thing to watch. Scott probably would know more technical terms.

Ha ha...I remember one night I was playing well in a tournament in Quincy, MA and in walked the cops to break it up. Figures they come when I'm playing good!! Anyway, from that point on the calcutta and tournament prize was "points". Suprisingly, my "points" were good at every store I went to...go figure.
