Accounting can be boring-but dude-that avatar looks a bit extreme.

Leagues
I have said it before but no one listened. Have a forum category just for leagues. It is a big part of pool, maybe the biggest organization, who knows. Everyone could vent or praise or whatever. Why do the moderators or people in charge not do this? I guess it costs money to make a change. Also said before but not acted on is a category for pool stories which everyone loves. I have so many great ideas!! This is such a great thing (AZ Billiards), I just want it to be even better.

Oh, I forgot, you guys got rid of them a long time ago. Please take them back.
We had CPA in our city for many years, it seemed like a good league but it died out about 2 years ago.
All we have is VNEA and a league sponsored by Molson Canadian beer and that can't be a bad thing.

I agree 100% with your post except, all leagues are not the same. BCA & Valley are way stronger. Is there SB'n in them, yes, but not no were's as bad. In BCA/Valley league, If I miss a shot or play a bad safe, there's a 98% chance I'm not getting back to the table. All leagues are not the same.
I do understand the idea of having sub forums for some subjects, but think about it for a minute...if you take leagues, aiming systems and a couple of other subjects and give them their own sub forum, what would be left for the main forum?

If everything could be compartmentalized, does there need to be a 'main forum'?
I've never been involved in the APAs counterpart, CPA so I don't know if there are any similarities between the two.
In my city, the main league is the VNEA. It has had its problems, ups and downs over the years thats for sure.
I happen to be friends with the current charter holders as I was with the past ones so I know what they go thru trying to make everyone happy.
It seems as tho every year we have almost the same dissenters with the same complaints. Blah blah blah this, blah blah that.
You can go into a league with a positive attitude that, you are going to have fun with your team, drink beer, eat wings and try and play the best you can or you can go out for a night just to find things to b i t c h about.
Some nights it does seem that the dissenters pick me out just to complain to. I don't know if it is because I always lend and ear to anyone that wants to talk or because I know the charter holders. But the funny thing is, I often wonder why they bother to show up, just to complain or what.
I actually get phone calls from these individuals complaining. Its like, I'm having fun, why aren't you and what exactly do you want me to do about it?
If you don't like whats happening, don't be part of the problem, be a part of the solution. To us, its a fun night out playing the game that we love.

Yes, maybe true, it just seems all things league related are so negative. Maybe I'm just trying to rid the main forum of negativity. Just brainstorming a little. So then why do so many people start APA?CPA bashing? I have played in all leagues in our area (valley/bca) and sandbagging will never die in any pool league as long as you have people who will manipulate the system. Most of the threads i read seem to be of players who had a bad experience in the league. (or are sore losers) I think most people play in pool leagues to get out of the house now and then and PLAY A GAME THAT THEY LOVE. Most of us will never be pros but if that is your dream then there are lots of tournaments you go play in.......... And my avatar is for a old friend (but you wont understand)

3rail, yes I have to say I thought twice before getting with that croc. It was in Thailand at the croc farm. The funny thing is that I was supposed to straddle it but not sit on it. My knees were hurting that day so I could not maintain the posture. The handlers got worried that the croc would have a bad reaction so I had to get off to the side. They were standing by to intervene at any sign of trouble.
But you're right... I definitely did not want to have to Attach/Re-attach anything that day.... :wink:
How bout this.... Anybody that wants to start a thread about DONT BASH THE APA... Should belly up at least 1000 dollars on a heads up match. How does that sound?? Im willing to play any APA member for that amount (heads up btw... man up or shut up) for whatever they want... Dont play in leagues if you dont want to hear about how this isnt fair or this... dont care!!!
Maybe they should make (if they dont have one already) an APA mesage board for all the APA douches to battle it out!!! Sorry but im so tired of hearing about the ANY POCKET AVAILABLE LEAGUE!!!!! They can all grow a set and play with the best of them or quit complaining!!!! PUT UP OR SHUT UP!!!! Im a SL8 I NEED THE 7!!!!!
