Appleton/Lee Brett Issues

too funny

why does the thought of Darren Appleton fighting just crack me up? its gotta be like a man with no arms swimming...lmfao

A few years ago i told him to change his grip, and what to do. He then used a gravity cue and it showed what i was telling him, ask JR Calvert what Darren said at derby city.

my father abused my sister for 7 years i kept this a secret for 30 years, which ruined my life with all the anger inside, and having nightmares each day, i have now got it out and got rid of this evil secret so dont judge me before you dont know me

He attacked me i defended myself, so where in the wrong am i here? the way i acted, some people are unreal. Any human being would protect themselves.

I have not spoken to Angie in over 11 months, so you are way off the mark here, and anytime i did speak to her was in a friendly way, not how you intend.

Justin you are right it is Shane's year and all they do is talk about this, you should rephrase to Brit not Brits.

For the record people, i'm a fraud and don't know how to play or teach now get a life and stop chatting *#it on here it's getting old.
Don't sweat it man. Shit happens. Happens more intensely when booze is involved. No one went to the hospital and no one went to jail. Few months from now it will just be another funny story about that one year at the open.

<----has a few of those stories

Bottom line is we are still discussing who knows how to teach, can they play, what have they done lately, etc.etc.... amazing how other sports don't have this problem...

Are there golf web sites that discuss who should teach and not teach recreational, league and local tourney players to get better.... and then RIP on any of them for not winning the Masters or not teaching Woods or some other dude ??

Anyone out there trying to keep folks interested in keeping this fringe sport alive by teaching, running leagues, making cues, playing at their local room, sponsoring pool events, buying pool streams, etc., can use a few more kudos and a lot less kicks to the groin......This is NOT about Lee, but just the tone in general on the subject......

Kinda weird that it even gets discussed..... I mean, pool chalk sells for $30 a cube and we are worried about someone selling books or videos to help someone's game..... here's a trick, if the stuff is not good, nobody buys it, and that pretty much should end the discussion.....I know I don't buy from the same guy if I didn't like their product the first time around.....

There is nothing like a good fight to spark peoples interest.
Jersey Shore is a perfect example. Those idiots a making 6 figures.

I think I teach much better than I shoot now, I play horrible since ....well I don't shoot. When I teach I can watch a player and I KNOW what is lacking I see it...I see it and I can and do help...but get me to run a rack...totally a different story!!! Helpless!!!

I believe Darren is right, a lot of pool players write instructional books and get their good friends to write good reviews on it. Maybe if a world champion came forth and said Lee had helped their game who wasnt Lee's friend i might believe him. I have played Lee in Reno @ the us open bar table event. a friend of mine told me that Lee thinks hes a great player but isnt that good. I proceeded to beat Lee. regardless of his skill level this doesnt mean he is not a great instructor but i can tell you that his table demeanor was horrible he was cursing and kept hitting the table when he would miss balls. That said he still beat ralf souquet 11-10 in the us open so he has to know something.

I'm no world champion but I recomend Lee's Instructional DVD , I gained some valuable information from it. As far as Lee and Darren scraping....so what. "Horrible table demeanor?". You should hope for this every match....shows you're getting the best of your opponent . I like when that happens:cool:.

"There was this one time, at Behrman Camp..." :p

I wouldn't be to sure about that.Darren
boxed pretty darn well for along time and can fight but this type of thing
shouldn't of happened.
Lee is a nice guy with good intentions and couldn't see him wanting
to throw down unless he felt threatened.
2 good guys,1 bad moment = life goes on,grudges are a waste of
good energy.

If that be the case IMO it was bad character on DA part. Lee may have been excited and Appleton a bit pissy . You don't out someone in public where news travels at light speed to satisfy your urge to blow off. It apparently upset Lee knowing Darren was deliberately damaging another fellow player/instructors character and well being. Pretty f&$@&$" up I think

I think both guys are great for the sport. Plus, we need a good scuffle like this every now and then to make sure pool never suffers from a good image.

You and me both sister :) But we keep plugging away, trying to get everyone better one student at a time.

I'm pretty sure nobody has ever been killed getting a poor lesson..... but the way it is "discussed" here, you would think a plane full of students dropped to the ground after watching an instruction video, read a pool book or took an actual pool lesson !!!

We don't actually care about all this.

What we really want to know is: Did you kick his ass? If so, how bad? Did he take it like a man or was he kind of a teapot?
