I read that they were using the magic rack which I have no fondness for as I have said and immediately I thought I would bet high on Mika since he seems to have a better control of the cut type break.....
Then I realized the Arena rules were going to be in play with a push out following the break and there was going to be a shot clock so I am no longer sure which way the smart money will go...... Darren to me is more of rhythm player than Mika so maybe the shot clock gets in Mika's head..... And since every game each player gets to the table Darren stays in rhythm.......
I love Accu-Stats bringing back the spot shot... I doubt either of them miss one but I will give the edge to Darren on it because of The SEE system... I don't miss spot shots anymore using it and I am nowhere near a US Open level player....... Then again maybe he dogs a 10ball spot shot because of the pressure.........
And there will be pressure.... Some numbnut at the pool room yesterday said something about it not mattering to them since they weren't playing for thousands.....
Guess what boys these are 2 players at the top of the heap right up there with anyone.... Anyone that thinks they won't be playing just as hard for pride as they will for cash must have a serious lack of pride themselves and wouldn't understand the concept of playing for it.....
Imagine being under the lights in a packed arena... Being streamed out over the internet... Playing against another top 5 player in the world and not wanting to step up and show everyone what the pecking order is?? You think pride hasn't been something they fed on thru out their trip up the ladder..... This going to be a battle.... all out and total..... Show me a good loser and I will show you a loser.... That description definately doesn't fit either of these guys....
My 5.95 will be well spent on Friday Night and I hope to more than recoup it with a few friendly wagers with some other folks I know will be on watching the stream as well....
The issue is one of my pals is willing to take either player.... And I am at a loss as to which way to bet.. After watching Mika battle thru the losers bracket at the Open 3 years ago my heart wants to bet that way but I watched Darren's patterns at the Open this past October and he was playing almost flawlessly........
I guess maybe this should be a poll but please chime in with who you like and why...... We have a week until post time =)
