I assume he's still in Philly? Drexel Line perhaps? What's his home hall there?

You said "again". Any reports on the prior match?
 
applelton lost first game there playing at pete fusco place in Feasterville near neshaminy mall and parx
 
Is his opponent trying to stay under the radar? I'm curious who it is, even if he's relatively unknown.
Was Eddie Abraham from that area? Is it the room owner?
 
his name is steve comer there is no under radar he is a b- c+ player with a lot of money.played a lot of good players before owed a pool hall in south jersey yrs ago. Darrin couldn't give eddie that game darron is up 1 game

once the skill lever difference is too great
the weaker player cant win no matter the spot if the stronger player plays smart
the stronger player will put the weaker player in traps he cant get out of
when the weaker player makes a mistake the stronger player will run several balls and then lock up the weaker player
unless the stronger player tries to play too agressive and gives the weaker player some shots
the weaker player has no chance

i learned this first hand playing new york blackie 10-4 in new orleans at the sports palace in the early 1970s........:embarrassed2:......:embarrassed2:

That's assuming the stronger player has even an inkling on how to play one pocket. I'm assuming this c players game of choice is 1 pocket. Darren, not so much. And Darren will never play as strong as NY blackie, btw.

The one pocket ended with Darrin winning 3 games after 5 hrs.switched to 1 ball on table comer getting front and side to front 200 game no contest when I left Darrin was up 6 games

you can bring NY Blackie( whereever he is hiding now ) to play Darren after the Mosconi cup. Race to 7 for 20,000 $. I will back Darren.
 
Please explain what front to side and side to front is. I have heard of 1 ball one pocket but never that spot. Thanks, Tom
 
u start with the ball middle diamond bottom of table Appleton has a front,the other guys has the other front and the same side as his front, no big spot since they played winner breaks, when darron won he just cut ball near his hole it was a joke.
 
It sounds a little like that spot where the weaker player, in addition to his usual pocket,
gets an extra side pocket?

In fact, Spidey got all 3 pockets on his side of the table (both corners and side).
So he had 3 pockets to the opponent's 1.

The short version is: it's a trap. The weaker player will never get a decent shot at those extra pockets.
Not when you're playing a champion.
