are acetal & delrin the same?

Yes, indeed Brent! There also appears to be some variation in "whiteness" from cool white to milky. Besides black I've seen cream colored Delrin also.

Actually, Delrin is DuPont's trade name for Acetel. Like many other well known products, like Formica and Micarta and others, the inventors or large manufacturer's trade name becomes synominous with the product.

Yep, as far as I know it is too, so I third that one. The stuff I have even has acetal written on the side. Most of mine are the black color, but I have a couple of pieces in a chocolate color also that looks like the same type material.
