Are you ready for WPBA`s US Open 9 Ball in Albuquerque,NM?

I'm not sure about that Tiffany/Laura score. On wpba.com, it has Laura winning 9-8, but Laura's name is also on the B side where the loser of that match would go.

I'm proud of her and not going to hide it. When you see someone pick up a cue for the first and then four years later, they're in the US Open, it's very very cool. I can't take the credit. There have been a bunch of people she's learned from (including me :) ) but I can still enjoy the moment.

That's great Jude. However, I see it differently. I think it shows how weak most of the women in the pro field are. How many men could play in the US Open after first picking up a cue four years ago? How many men at Amsterdam could spot your girlfriend? See the difference?

Right to the point: We can go on all freakin' day about the differences between the sexes. You see it in running. You see it in weight-lifting. You see it in salary. You have NO IDEA how well-read I am on the subject and if you want, I'll PM you some books so you can delve into the reasons a bit.

Look, this isn't the thread for this. Here, we're talking about the WPBA US Open. I'd like to keep this thread positive instead of the bs that seems to plague every guy who wished he were a woman so he could go pro.

Yeah, Vivian found her game after losing her first match. She'll have the loser of Jeanette and Kim Shaw. Winner of that moves into the final 16.

Yep, I had a feeling Vivian would work her way through the elimination bracket. Pamela Treadway seems to be fighting through as well.

I know this kid since she was 14-15 and she is special to me.I started calling her Hot Tamali to fit her into the local New Mexico culture when she played in the New Mexico state championship in which she got second place. The US open is being played in New Mexico and hence I continued calling her Hot Tamali. If this causes clash/conflicts with her sponsorship issues I may cease to propagate that nick name.Infact I never liked ``Rock`` because it is for the men and not for women.
By the way are u with any pro player? If u want to say hello to me today at the tournament please ask Christi carter and she will identify vagabond for u.

I wish I was there. I'm sadly at home, keeping track of the results on the WPBA website. They're doing a great job this tournament at keeping the brackets updated, and I'm just posting them here when I see they've been updated. Never been to a live event. I'm sad they no longer have the event at Valley Forge. I went to school not too far from there and probably would've gone had the event not moved.

Hopkins defeating pam Treadway 9-1.That is something.
I've been working a ton of over time the last two week and then have been following the IPT fiasco... I've missed most of this tournament. :(

I just got a phone call from Pamela Treadway or as she put it," a very, very fat pregnant lady that's playing in the ESPN tv rounds today".

She hasn't been playing very much due to some minor complications with her pregnancy. She didn't expect to do well and even had her flight moved up from Sun to Sat after her match with Dawn. Lo & behold, that phenomenal drive & heart she's got for the game kicked in and she clawed her way back through the brackets to make it to the TV round.

Good shooting Pam, and I wish you all the best in your matches today!

To my other friends playing in this event... Sarah, Alice, Melissa, Liz, & Kathleen... sorry I didn't make time to follow the event this week and cheer you on. I allowed myself to be consumed with the negative side of pool this week. All of you guys did good this week and I promise to be a cheerleader here on the forums with vagabond, pj, Mike, & the rest during the next tournament. ((((( Big hugs)))))) :)

Have the quarterfinals ended? I thought only the semis and finals were TV rounds. Does this mean Pamela beat Vivian?
