Avatars, anyone else feel some are in poor taste?

I don't know what the fuss is all about.

While i understand that there are rules, it is still amazing to me, that some people can't handle certain images.

ESPECIALLY when the same people that would gladly ogle a sexually suggestive avatar that depicts women in a certain pose or exposing a certain amount of flesh are all sorts of bent out of shape because someone puts up a picture of men in a sexually suggestive pose.
I mean, this is the modern age, and if people can handle one side of it, and not the other, that is completely on them.

There is really no difference between the 2 girls kissing and the 2 guys kissing, except the degree of discrimination imparted on each of them.

As for people that get upset at the objectification of women, lets not forget that some of those women AGREED to pose for those pictures, and I'd be willing to bet that they were more then happy to shove their assets into the camera and are proud of it. They are more likely then not, going to use their assets to try and open doors to gain an advantage if they can.

So if there is objectification of women going on, women have to take some of the blame for it. It's not just the men, despite whatever womens study courses might say.

Well - I was having fun with my COW avatar, but since everyone is going conservative I might as well join in. (I'm no rebel..LOL).

Here is a picture of my dad backing up Chet Atkins on The Grand Ole Opry television show in the 50's. My pops is on the right, and he was....17 years old in this photo. Nice scarf, right? LOL... His life was playing guitar, and shooting pool in those days.

.

Well... .it might bother them b/c they are normal males that are naturally attracted to the female form and see something more than just wrong but actually phyiscally disgusting about two dudes making out.. ...

People are just not going to be happy until I ban someone.

It is at this time I am going to advise everyone participating here to re-familliarize themselves with the forums rules.

I have no intention of going through and editing everryone's posts and quotes.

I will just remove the poster soon.

Keep it clean and civil people.

Personally, I don't understand why anyone would object to an avatar increasing public awareness of mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

And I feel ignored and left out of this discussion. Nobody is complaining about my beaver avatar.

If all you turkeys would just go to your user CP and change your settings to block avatars, we could get on to more important things, like, for example, pool shoes.

i think they are funny

I have no problem with any of them. i actually think some are damn funny.

ewwwwwwww

You might have to start with smokeandapancake's avatar. I'm offended by his use of Grady & Randi playing pool nekkid. It brings back nightmares of reading Grady's book, "Bet High, Kiss Low"....

So I have to ask... Are you throwing that hint out to me or someone else...

Dont want to sound aggressive...just honestly dont know who you mean by "the poster"

Beavers have rights too. I think that beavers would be upset if they saw the misrepresentation of your avatar. Beavers are not angry creatures, but gentle and docile.
Please change your avatar immediately so that i am not offended.

I dont know about you ..but I have come across a few angry beavers in my time.. The can be very aggressive creatures after a few drinks.....

Just thought I would chime on topic here and say "Yes." I do find many to be in poor taste. I often post from work with kids around and turned off avatars weeks ago. But I miss the visual identification of other posters. Now I have to look at names to know who is who. So, yes I know avatars can be turned off, but my enjoyment of the site is diminished (and not because of lack of boobiesa;-).

I would be really happy if the forum rules regarding sexual content were enforced to the point where the content of the site was PG (not 13), at least for pictures (I've never read anything too bad here). I come here for billiards, not woodies (or in the case of some pics, reverse woodies) and not to be embarassed when someone walks up behind me.

offended? please

I have seen all the avatars being discussed and I didn't find any of them offensive. Every time I see the avatar of Jennifer Baretta with her butt in the air I wonder why she posed like that. I am not offended just surprised she thought that was a good idea for a promotional photo.

Censorship is a splippery slope. RSB was a very good uncensored forum, until ONE intolerant, sick individual decided to destroy it (for most of us).
Just ignore the wannabee moderators.

I was about to ask about your sexuality but you answered it already. for my part, I don't discriminate gay people. I knew some gay people who post their personal avatar depicting a gayish posture. but that's ok. since there is nothing wrong with it. but the kissing avatar is a bit too much or disturbing not to catch some negative attention. when it comes to pics, there are levels of comprehension. I do believe people here are not bias with regards to other's avatars. a set of hooters with some shirt is entirely different from a fully exposed mammary glands. Have you seen such avatar here of a fully exposed boobies? If you saw such avatar which is not dealt with and didn't have a negative impact, then you can say that people here are biased. ;)

here's some azbilliards avatars for ya... if you'll notice on the second picture down... yeah thats a fully exposed tit. does this mean i'm allowed to say some people on this forum are biased now... thanks for the permission buddy.

And if she was on a beach no one would give it a second thought. Instead, she is in a provocative pose on a pool table. IMO, that makes it inappropriate. Don't misunderstand, I think Jennifer is a spectacular looking lady and I love the picture but when my step-daughter walks past and hollers that "Brian is looking at porn on the computer" and everyone comes running and I have to explain what an avatar is, it's an issue.

Whoa, I had no idea my Avatar was offensive to you, and seems to be to others here as well. I respect the views of others who have families and or post at work (as I post from work as well). My avatar does nothing for me, and I'm not here to prove anything to anybody nor am trying to make a statement.

I'll be glad to find myself another avatar. It's about time anyways.
