AVOID Gerard Pepin (PocketsCalgary), got worst treatment ever

jeeeeeeezzzzzzz...... I shipped a Sportspack Mini Cooper from the Netherlands in a container and it only took two weeks to show up in Long Beach, CA.

Over 35 days for a cue is just rediculous. While Pockets has no control over the shipping, he does have control over his attitude and helpfulness.

He failed in that regard big time !!!

Great job Pockets

First of all I have no experience with Canadian post, but with usps, ups, ems from US to Norway, Europe.

I normally prefer USPS priority mail for shipping cues from US to Europe. Price is ok, about 43 usd for 2oz, tracking all the way, and shipping time is normally 5-12 days.

My point is once it took 5 weeks to receive a cue, it took 4 weeks before the cue left US according tracking info. The seller did all he could to find out if anything was wrong. The cue arrived in perfect condition, and I still don't know what caused the delay.

I do also want to stress how important it is that a cue is shipped according agreement. If somebody ships to me using f.ex first mail instead of priority mail, the tracking stops when the package leaves US, the seller saves about 20 usd, and when I find out I demand the seller to cover all shipping risks.

PC's comment about the cue not being available locally over there, and doing the buyer a favour by shipping, is a strange comment in my opinion. Cues always have to be shipped to costumers living outside the neighborhood of the cuemaker. If you don't pay the same attention regarding shipping to a person just because he lives in Greece, Europe, and is "far" away from you, I am out of words - az wanted/ for sale section is open for worldwide trade. There could be reasons for not wanting to ship, sell or buy overseas. If that is the case, make a note in your thread or just tell the potential buyer.

And my last view: The i-trader should not be abused, and I hope the mods will have a look at this. If you automatically receive a negative i-trader back, who will leave negative i-traders?

There is nothing for sale in this thread, but still I am very happy the thread is posted here in this section......

I've done business with both and both guys were real nice.I shipped
to Greece from Canada and took about 9days including the weekend
and about the same when Petros sent mine which was great.
Nobody should of jumped the gun with negative itraders until
the cue arrives.
If it was stuck in customs then its just crappy luck for both
party's.
I hope the cue arrives to you safe, thats the main thing along
with your itrader.

Thanks again guys for your comments.
Cue arrived just yesterday in Greece (hopefully and not still in some intermediate station..), it is not stuck at customs, yet and there is no reason that it does. That's not the main point though, or for how much it was insured, under my risk I don't declare packages high when I receive.
So cue is still not here, and hopefully after such prolonged shipping it will arrive eventually in good condition.
There is absolutely no excuse for what he did and I'm glad honest az members got to know that even if my flawless itrader is damaged.
Still no response from moderators, should I contact somenone in particular?

Petros.. I won't go into the shameless comments that Pockets made again, but will just talk about your negative iTrader. If I were you, I would contact Mr. Wilson or one of the other moderators, and tell them what has gone on. Include a link to this thread where Pockets states that you sent the money first. Ask them to change you negative iTrader rating, or, at the very least, have it linked to this thread so people can see that the only thing you did to "deserve" that negative rating, was to deal with Pockets. I really hope your cue gets to you soon, and in the condition you are expecting. Good luck with it all, and those of us who have read and posted in this thread know that you are someone we can deal with without problems.

I'm always surprised when I see threads like these. Any time I've sold something on here I've had more anxiety about it getting to the buyer quickly and safely than when I'm the buyer.

I never consider the deal done until the buyer has the stuff and I always confirm that they got it and everything is ok. That's why I bubble wrap and pack cues in PVC tubes as well as ship them out USPS Priority.

The best way to sell/ship things is to think of yourself as the buyer and not the seller.

First, where is the receipt with he tracking number?

Two, PC, aside from PAYING YOU.....what did Petros do to deserve a negative iTrader?

I expect some quick answers.

P.S....Petros....

I received your PM at 1:26 AM.
First report from you period.

Do you think I should be on call 24/7??

Good luck in getting answers from him with a post here. After his debacle of the 19th, he hasn't posted in this thread. Maybe, like an ostrich with its head in the sand, he thinks if he avoids reading about it, this thread will disappear.

I think what happens is - he got paid, so he figured, nothing can be done about it. We can not really make him refund the money or compensate for late shipping. So, he figured, why bother.
Typical A$$ hole attitude.

Being the bottom line kind of guy that I am, the moment the seller deviated from the agreed upon method of shipping (to an apparently less expensive, untrackable one), he opened himself up to any and all problems that flow from his bad decision.

Whether it was to squeeze a few more dollars from the deal, or whatever, it doesn't matter. He broke the terms of the deal, period, end of story.

PC responding on here as he has shows a true lack of character.

His giving Petros a negative iTrader was absolutely retaliatory and undeserved.

Glad to see Mr. Wilson is on it and will undoubtedly get it sorted out.

best,
brian kc

This is real easy, the receipt will show how this cue was sent.
When the cue does arrive it should also show on the package.
Lets just wait and see before people start throwing sh-t at
the fan.
If I were Pockets and truly sent the cue in a way not knowing
it would take so long,I would send the money it costs me to ship
it back to Petros with a apology and call it square.

Somehow, i highly doubt it will happen.

The RIGHT way!!

I'm sure most of you have heard of Joel Dadivas of JD Custom cues. I custom ordered 2 of his cues recently, and he shipped them this week. They left the Philippines on Monday, and will arrive here (Southern California) today before 10:30am!! A 2 day ship because he took it upon himself to use the best and fastest shipping possible. He had my money before he shipped just as Pockets had Petros' money. But, as he cares about his customers, he went above and beyond to make sure they get here as quickly as possible. Not only plain good business, but good FOR business. I doubt that Pockets will have much more business here in the future.

Learned it from Bill Stroud!

Mr. Wilson I apologise again for spending your time as I did in my pm, I know this is unfair to you.
I would never do it if the matter wasn't quite serious, I just wasn't sure if somebody got my report, delays may happen in any system without anybody's fault.
Once again thank you for taking control of this, I really appreciate it.

As a newer member of AZ, I always try to stay neutral and unbiased and that is why I don’t post much, but one thing I’d like to state, is that there are some things that are out of our control, like cues getting stuck in customs, packages getting lost, regardless of which carrier one chooses. But! And this is just my point of view, I believe that any expensive item being shipped, should be shipped using the best shipping methods possible! Period! And that definitely includes a $1200 cue.

+1 on this one. I once shipped something to Rome via Fedex Air and it got stuck at customs... It ended up taking 2 weeks to get there...
