Came down to the wire, literally the last ball...
no runouts, hardly anyone has a ball down or a look at the one after the break... so lots of good kicks. Earl looked sick every time the kid jumped (which of course he's gonna do, he's from Taipei). The kid looked nervous, earl fired in a lot of tough shots and played delicate position, his kicking was pretty solid too.
Earl got into it with himself and the crowd early and said the crowd was against him. When scott interviewed him after he said something like ..."I do 4-5-600 situps every day, I keep fit and stay in shape, these guys treat me like some kind of clown".
Spoiler time - earl blamed his loss on bad rolls. He swiped the chalk as he stormed off.
Scott and billy's commentary is growing on me, and they have started sweat betting m&m's on whether someone is out, or who breaks and runs, or the outcome of the match. Each m&m being a ten dollar bill of course =) Someone suggested this may replace the term "jellybeans".
Earl's final shot to take it all was with the CB hanging near the corner and OB angled mildly for the far corner or a sharply (like 50-60 degrees) for the side. For some reason he plays it in the side?! I envisioned clearly earl getting down and drilling it in the corner like it was nothing. Probably woulda made the kid sick, as he horribly butchered some tough shots while frozen to the rail. (kid? actually 31 years old? hard to swallow)
The gamelosing shot, as I remember it. The angle can be deceptive.
Who else likes this in the corner?
