Thanks.CocoboloCowboy said:The power to be at the City should get there act together, as if they allow the business to open the TAX REVENUES start rolling in to the Cities CASH DRAW...........I personally do not understand why many cities in the State of AZ are so Anti business, but cry about not having enough money to run the city......SURPRISE is another City that make it hard for people to do business in their city.......Followed closely behind by Glendale, and Peoria AZ!

Lenny I was looking at a video of you playing Earl and I think you should pass that onto the rating folks and you will go down to a 4.Fast Lenny said:The only thing I can say is that the rating system is severly flawed,I was raised to a 9,everyone knows I am not a 9,I am a good solid 8 but if I am raised to a 9 that means a few other 8s should go up with me.I have video proof I play 8 speed, look at all the vids and my performances!![]()
I do think the rating system can work but here is what would have to happen. You need to have rooms keep track of the guys who are cashing in the tournies, make raises based on that. Not all people who are rated are really that rating because of gambling so raising those people who gamble is tricky. There needs to stats kept on players in tournies, its not too difficult to have a TD write down the scores on the last few matches that are in the money and names of the players.I myself was raised to a 9 but dont know the basis,I did not win any big tournies,I do cash here and there but only play out of kolbys for the most part,I do gamble and book losers here and there.
big table, bar table, snooker table, bumper table, basketball court, golf course, batting cage, burger king playground, OR YOUR OWN PERSONAL TABLES!!! i just want to play. up to everyone else on the table. just give me a couple days notice so i can practice a lil on the tablesjustabanger said:We said in the beginning that is was going to be on the 9' table and then jerry says bar box and now you guys changed it. I am sure Carlos and Crugar have no problem with the big table so lets keep it like it was before and play on the big table. Big Table= count me in
Kiddie Table= I will pass
PS: if bad company is so sure carlos has this in the bag then I think he should play too and we will see who will win it. 10 players @ 100 per man winner takes all. Let me know where and when to show up and Im there!!!!

Moving from a system with 9 different ratings to a system with only 3 (ABC) would be worse than all the stupid people that recommend getting rid of ratings all together. I have no understanding of people that keep bagging on the rating system. If you have any concept of thought, it's SUPER easy to see how many more weekly tournaments there are in Arizona compared to other states. Many Many Many bars in the state are able to have tournaments every single week. They get many people in their establishment that actually spend money every week. Ratings protect bar owners, protect their tournaments, keep players coming into their bars. No ratings means top players come in, rob the tournament every week and shortly after lower rated players (people who spend more money) stop coming in to play or find other places to play. Shortly after that you have no tournaments. Hmm. Sounds pretty simple.....
I think Lenny is a 9 rated player. He is better than Jude, who is one of the strongest 8's in the state at times, but lacks consistency. Lenny is a 9 most days, and I'm not bagging on your game at all, but unfortunately for you at this point, are on the low end of the 9 rating. Imagine if we had an ABC format, you'd be an A player and would have to play even with every good 9 and all the 10's in the state. How often do you think you'd win tournaments?
Getting raised to a 9 has NOTHING to do with what you have won! NOTHING to do with how much money you won! NOTHING to do with gambling matches you have played. It has everything to do with how well you play. Patterns, Stroke, Knowledge, Ability, etc. I'm so sick of hearing people who got raised saying, "I got raised and I didn't even win anything!" That is like saying "I got a promotion at work without ever working overtime". Who cares? If you play better than 90% of the 8's and play even with many 9's, you are a 9.
I was raised to a 9 in May the day after Vegas. I didn't win anything. I played everyday for 3 weeks in a row before Vegas, 2 - 3 hours of quality play everyday, some days 8 - 10 hours or more. I beat many 9's and 10's at Alexander's and Metro. But I was raised to a 9 because of how I play. Yeah, it's hard to swallow for anyone who gets raised. Best thing to do is accept it and raise your game. I busted my butt after getting raised and knew I was going to win the AZBCA tournament. I even told Howerton before I came to the tournament that I was going to win it. I didn't want to be the weakest 9 in the state.
Reality is this. If you don't like the ratings, don't play in rated tournaments. If you think something should change with the ratings, show up at the next meeting. April 5th, Noon, Sweet Tooth Billiards, 43rd Ave & Peoria. Express your thoughts!
