Here they are..in all their glory. Sung, (SK Custom Cues here on AZB) and myself gave them a test run. WOW!!!

Every builder involved.....WOW!! You guys did an exceptional job. I loved all the cues...Each one had its own distinct hit and feel. I was pretty much overwhelmed by these cues so I dont have alot to say right now on them...I will go hit with them again tonight and give you guys more of an opinion on each cue. So here is the pics of the cues.

I did leave out the Sneaky Pete cue but will post pics of it tonight. I will say that Vasilios here on AZB is the one that donated the 2 point Sneaky....Man, this is an awesome sneaky. Beautiful Cocobolo....super nice shaft, G-10 pin with his special cut thread..Absolutely a beautiful cue

John Barton donated the case and roll up sleeve to protect the cues....I honestly think you could drop these cues inside the case from 10' and nothing would happen to these cues...this case is absolutely awesome....Thank you John Barton!

Now, here is a few pics. Sung will be posting pics and some video of the cues. I will post better pics and video of the cues when I have more time to evaluate them.

I will also be taking these cues to Olathe this weekend for anyone that wants to see and hit with them. Just look for me, I will be the guy that looks like he is carrying a missle launcher around on his back

Who made these cues?

6 cuemakers here on AZ...The names will be known after everyone has had a chance to hit with the cues...they will go all across the US and then back to me.....then the names will be known who made which cue....I will raffle off all the cues and the case together. The money will then be donated to AZ Billiards to show our appreciation for them giving us such a wonderful place to come to.

I will tell you this....at least 1 of the cuemakers is a VERY well known maker here on AZ...and he puts out some high dollar cues....and there is a little known maker that is involved also....These cues hit great....you guys are gonna love hitting with them!

Here's the video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHAInyrpXXk

This video is not top quality, but it serves it's purpose. I hope everyone can be appreciative of Shawn's efforts. I want those who have the understanding and faith to pray over these cues and see to it that it makes it all the way through to the end.

The video was just uploaded, so it may not work 100% but it will after a while. I want to let everyone know that Shawn and I tested the cues out this morning and we had a blast. There is nothing like getting a new cue to check out, and it's even better when you have 6!

Shawn got himself a new ST and there was another Vasillios SP cue to check out that isn't part of the evaluation process. For anyone wanting more info about these cues, go to the cuemaker build off thread

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=129306

These cues and their makers will be anonymous until everyone that is on the pre-determined list has had a chance to have their turn.

There will be another round of this with a little different twist to it, so maybe all the naysayers that blew this one off will be more supportive next time. Maybe we can all throw Shawn a thanks, or a pat on the back for what he is actually doing for the pool community. I personally think this endeavor deserves to be rewarded in terms of financial compensation for all the time and effort he's put into it, but that's JMHO!

Enjoy, fellas!

P.S. I will be submitting my feedback on the cues after I've had a chance to think it over. Maybe those trying it out can wait to read the feedback. I think it will sub-consciously affect the testing process.

I assume there is no way they could make it to Dayton this Saturday? I would love to try them out but Ohio is not on the already determined route.I think there will be a lot of AZ"ers there this weekend.

The cues will be in Olathe Kansas this weekend. There is already a pre-determined list of people the cues will be shipped to. There will be another cue build off in the near future, and if you and the group of AZer's would like to be a part of it, be on the look out.

<--------- What he said

The next build off will go something like this...

4 or 5 High End cues at a value of approx 2500.00 each (that price is subject to change though). Builder will be able to do whatever he wants to his cue, as long as he would sell that particular cue for 2500.00.

We will video parts of the construction phase of each cue being built along with a small interview by the builder. I will personally go to each builder to do the videoing, or I will pay someone (like TAR) to do this.

There will be a STRICT deadline on having the cues completed. All the cuemakers involved will know and agree to the deadline...The names will be known who is making the cues before the contest starts. There will be a minimal amount of people that recieves the cues because of the high cost of the cues. I am hoping to have these cues at MAJOR pool events when they are completed and I will be responsible for making sure that happens.

Thats kinda it in a nutshell.

But, we are just getting this going so lets enjoy these cues while we can

Shawn

I know,but it never hurts to beg:grin:

I tried to go to Dayton this weekend for the cue show, but I cant take off work tomorrow...Me and the wife and my son were gonna leave today and head there and visit the Air Force Museum and then the cue show on saturday....but work burst my bubble on that one :(

So, as a consolation, I will be in Olathe this weekend letting whoever wants to hit with the cues and rate them they can...

lots of work

I just wanted to say thanks for the effort you have put into this.

Why not try raffling off the cues without telling who built them? If each cue is well built, then let the buyer be surprised!

Great job!!!!

I was debating whether or not to open this thread because I wanted the first look I had of these cues to be when I had them shipped to me, but my curiosity got the best of me. They look fantastic and I am seeing them on the 2.5 inch screen of my phone (I'm at work). I can't wait to get home and see them on my computer.

If I get them in time I'll bring them to the DCC where a ton of ppl can check them out. Thanks for all the work you put into this.....it really is a special thing.

Here is what the rocket launcher....I mean, cue case and cue sleeve looks like.

John Barton did a wonderful thing for us. Thanks John for making and donating this to the build off!

Just look out for that ftgokie guys cue....his cues suck

Did u see the video also?

I am gonna do a video next week when I get to really test the cues out and I will post it on my youtube so everyone can see me hitting with the cues and my feedback for each cue.

A special thanks to ftgokie, the cue makers, and John Barton for making this happen. I can't wait until I have my chance to hit them. Until then I will be following the coverage whatever it may be. Was an excellent idea implemented into action. Thanks all!!

Gotta thank ftgokie for pursuing this idea. What a great way to give some publicity to some cue builders, and at the same time give us players a chance to evaluate their cues. I can't wait to get these, so that I can give them a fair test.

I'll try to patiently wait!!
