I had a crazy idea yesterday. There are so many good players who post on here, why not have an annual get together, with an All Around tourney thrown in. I'm thinking $100 entry fee into each division, maybe One Pocket, 9-Ball and Banks. No added money, we just play for the entry fee money. Keep it fun but with a little purse to go after.

I thought about Colorado since it is centrally located. It doesn't have to be there though. If Jim McDermott liked it, we might be able to do it at his poolroom in Tulsa. And he can play too. He plays good by the way.

I see it as a big pool party, with some spirited competition thrown in. I'd love to meet all the good players who post here. I suspect I will recognize most of you. Ironman, Blackjack and Island Drive are already down for this. Who else?

I think it is a great idea. That is what they kind of try to get going at the DCC each year with the AzBilliards Room, I think.

Colorado sure is beautiful, but it's a little far for the East Coast AzB-ers.

DCC in Louisville would be more centrally located. :)

I can't tell whether the location is good or not, but I am sure that this is a great idea and I'd love to be there - hence it's a shame that I can't due to the distance :(

There's a Hungarian pool topic and we had a forum get together recently at the 3rd B-Day of the forum and it was great! Players came from every corner of the country and played in a competition like you mentioned.

It truly was one hell of a pool party so I think yours will be great too!
 
I would love the opportunity to do a big shhebang.

THe thought of an AZB tourney has come up a few times, it would be nic if it could really come together.

Jay- why don't you do a whole tour- I see N. CA, Chicago TX and mid-Atlantic!?

I will definitely try to attend (spouse permitting).

Colorado is just a short 20 hour drive from here (if you don't stop for food or gas). Perhaps BB's idea of more regional contests is good idea. There is a LARGE population of AZB'ers in the east and mid-west.

Unfortunately, Indy has no good pool hall at the moment; or I would love to do it here (I could put up 5 or 10 AZB'ers in the Betmore Arms; could save some hotel and meal money).
 
Louisville would be wonderful. Nashville or Memphis could be done. Chicago also. Colorado is a bit out there. Hey, how about Vegas ???? Reno is pretty cool, too. Pool hall is in walking distance from the casinos.

After playing in the room at DCC (my first DCC this year) I know I would be glad to come and donate. Just for the opportunity to meet everyone and talk pool with people who don't get bored of it would be worth the tourney fees. The DCC was a great first tournament expierence for me, but because there is so much going on I didn't spend that much time in the AZ room meeting board members. (Could stop watching the action room).

Perhaps in addition to cash the coveted Bet-More trophy could have the winners name engraved on it annually (since I know losing it would be too painful).
 
Colorado is centrally located? You funny guy! That should have been posted in the Funny thread. Anyway, I would be interested if it was located closer to Ohio.

Anywhere decided is going to be out of the way for some. Try San Antonio? Mexico ain't very far.

How about, Jacksonville, clearwater, tampa, st. pete, Murphy's brass rail?

Those are some central locations, and there are waves new beach bars near bye.
