CrownCues said:I think Jay's idea was to determine the interest along with the ideas from this thread and JesPiddlin's idea was to get some numbers to know what might be workable. Both of them have stated they are willing to do some work in pulling something like this off. Are you offering to help, too?

TheOne said:Agh nice, I took a year off the Euro Tour to concentrate on work and property but sadly this event has come about 2 months too early for me!
I really wanted to play this year but taken perm job so would be tough, Singlefingen (sp?) was a nice room though, pretty good stop.
Nice nightlife!![]()

As a matter of fact I was just there tonight for a few hours.. picked up my freshly tipped shaft from Marco and beat a few balls into the rail.
Too bad you cant make it over.. I would like to play a few racks with ya..
Anyhow.. back to the point of the thread....

Both cities have good pool rooms to host us (I would work on that, i.e bargain rates). Maybe we can get them to give us 4-8 tables each day at a flat rate. We may have to all throw in $25 each for the table time. I'm thinking 25-50 people the first time out.
We could hold it over a four day period, the tournaments overlapping a little, two days for each. We can never please everybody no matter when or where it is held. Hopefully it will be an event that will grow each year.

Okay, tell me what you think.

Don't worry with Jay's poker prowess I'm sure he'll find a way to add a holdem tournament to the festivities! Philwironman said:Do they have poker machines? If so, I can't make it. I love em.

Dawgie said:To answer your question - Yes I would be willing to help out as much as possible on the east coast.
But first must be established what type of venue you are going to have? For example - if it's OPEN I'm not interested unless it's close to home. The type of venue will determine for many if they will go or not. I'm not trying to knock what Jay has proposed. But looking at the original idea invite - this has grown from a local tourn. to bi-coastal to international.
Look at the last tourn. where no one even got paid. The parameters have to be established or it just won't work, large or small. I suggest that it be kept to a west coast tourn. to start off and if successful that following year it could be both coasts and grow from there.
jay helfert said:I had a crazy idea yesterday. There are so many good players who post on here, why not have an annual get together, with an All Around tourney thrown in. I'm thinking $100 entry fee into each division, maybe One Pocket, 9-Ball and Banks. No added money, we just play for the entry fee money. Keep it fun but with a little purse to go after.
I thought about Colorado since it is centrally located. It doesn't have to be there though. If Jim McDermott liked it, we might be able to do it at his poolroom in Tulsa. And he can play too. He plays good by the way.
I see it as a big pool party, with some spirited competition thrown in. I'd love to meet all the good players who post here. I suspect I will recognize most of you. Ironman, Blackjack and Island Drive are already down for this. Who else?
Okay, tell me what you think.
