Will the Mosconi Cup payouts be added to the AZB Money Leaderboard before years end? Johnnyt

They should. I still don't understand why the gambling matches are listed though.

Alex didn't win $50,000 when he beat Scott and Bergman didn't wan $40,000 when he beat Dominguez.

When players ante up for a two man event then they are playing for the ante amount NOT the total regardless of how it is marketed.

Alex' side won $25,000.

People can say whatever they want to but the fact is that in 17 listed events Shane came in the top 3 and in 24 events he came in the top 5 and in like 7 of them he was 1st.

To me Shane, according to this list, is the top earner in professional pool. His income doesn't depend on one or two high paying events a year. He is a solid player who finishes higher more often than all of his counterparts according to the reported results.

the 50K is listed but not included as part of the total. alex made 88k in tournaments alone.

Don't forget about his $100K salary from Cuetec! That alone makes him the top earner over anyone except JLee.

Neither gambling matches nor Mosconi are relevant. Should an Asian drop in the money standings because of ineligibility for the Mosconi? The money list should be based on events to which all pros have access. That does, of course, raise questions about things like World Pool Masters, the Challenge of Champions and all WPA events, to which not all players earn invitations, but those events are, in fact, accessible to all based on merit, so I feel strongly that they should be included.

Money is money. It shouldn't be about fairness. Who earned the most in the events they enter. Nothing stopping China from doing their own events to count.

Good point. Although all pros have access to challenge Shane. :-)

China does events that count.

That's how Appleton ended up in the #1 spot. $98,000 from one event.

And not all pros were invited to that one either I don't think. Although there might have been qualifiers.

adding money games was stupid i know many people that earn lots of money games but never get on the list.. and as u pointed out... they player ends up with half that bet total and then lets say 40% tops of 20k he won.. but they kept bergmans match on there..

all tournaments are fine.. we all don't play the same events

we pick and choose what we play

I've only played in 20 events this year compared to say shane he prob played 35-40.. so he play in a lot of events i didn't i.e. challenge of champions etc

i could argue if i played same events as him i could be around 250k plus sponsorship..

lot of ifs and buts..

but this year i earn the most money

previous years they left a lot of events off the list they prob missing around 200k of what I've won in past 8 years... only recent they done a good job with it.

before they really only added world events and usa events.. so hell of a lot missing from that list years gone by.

everyone had the same opportunity to play WPA Chinese World 8 Ball Championship obviously.. The field was amazing and its without doubt the greatest achievement of my career. So for sure i should be credited for it.

Just a question around why you only played 20 events. Was this to keep yourself fresh or was it a timing issue around travel to and from events.

because i lost motivation hunger and love for the game. and hardly practiced.. and health issues..

usually i play around 30..

next year be around same 20.. but gonna possibly play 2 events jan-may.. get myself healthy and motivated again and come back better than before

but like u say i like to get myself ready for the big events usually playing smaller events just wears me out and would mean more time away from home..

Darren, thanks for coming on here. Folks, Daz posted on Facebook a long explanation of his thought process. Read that, instead of making him rehash it here.

Darren have you ever thought about playing Shane a long set for a lot of money? I think that would be a historic matchup.

Believe it or not, we are not all on Facebook!

anybody playing shane 10ball winner break ing race like 100 must have a death wish. if he plays well on top of his incredible break nobody can beat him... race to 100 his break worth 20 games on the wire..

i would possibly play him other games like one pocket 8ball if right equipment 14.1.. maybe 9ball call shot with 9 on spot..

10ball unless he breaks for me i got no shot.
