Mr. Jerry -R- was asked several years ago to create a similar cue as the one piece Brunswick model #36 full spliced cue. Mr. Rauenzahn spent the better part of the past years analyzing how the Master Brunswick builders were able to create a multiple full-spliced cue and keep it one piece including crisp points going in both directions. Well, Jerry wouldn't let the challenge get the better of him. Here are some recent pics just before Jerry's finish is applied. This cue is my prized cornerstone piece of a personal collection I have been fortunate to aquire from Jerry Rauenzahn over the past 8 years.

I do not believe this style of one piece cue has been duplicated in well over 100 years. Jerry has shared many a story with me regarding the cue and all of the fixtures, tooling, and accomodations necessary to complete such an undertaking. He assured me he WILL NOT make another one.

I'm sure there will be your normal army rift-raft that will say it's a copy, when in all actuality it is very much an original design with one set of butterflies going in the reverse direction. Also notice the 8 point full-splice near the lower butt section. That's no copy!! No doubt some jealous poor soul will find a way to bad mouth and and trash Jerry's work, but get real and enjoy his accomplishments!!! This is a cue creation with hours of thought, devotion, passion, and engineering skills very few builders would even try to complete. And, he did it!!!

More pics to follow as soon as it arrives.

Thank you and enjoy....

John

One very notable cue builder with a father that we ALL know and collect, tribute, and jealously wish we had one of their cues has made some positive comments regarding this build. As soon as I have his permission to quote his comments I'll let you know what he thinks regarding this cue.

That is one beautiful piece of functional art. I love that type of look. Just fantastic

This is one of the best designs in a pool cue history. And the excellent implementation of the replica. Love it. Bravo.:clapping::clapping::clapping:

i like the -R- cues and anybody looking could see thats not fake. have been toying around myself with the vignaux/berger style and can appreciate his hard work.nice patriotic veneers, thanks for showing..

Very...Very Nice

Great cue John. Jerry is one of the best cue makers of all time in my book and a good friend. I have known him since 1971 in our younger pool shooting days in Reading, PA.

PS: I have 7 of his cues...that pales in comparison to your collection I bet :bow-down:

Wedge,

I haven't taken them out of my safe for a while. I think I'm up to 41 or 42 of -R-'s work. Maybe I should show them 3-4 at a time so people get a chance to see his diversity of work over the past 10 years or so. He can do anything, and does what his customer's ask him to build. I'm a HUGE collector of his cues. His work will one day be very collectible because of his quality hit we all seek. It's a matter of time. Maybe tomorrow I'll lay out a table, two, or three of his accomplishments.:smile::smile:
