Can just about get out of bed since Sunday with bad lower back pain. I think I'll be able to get in the car (Mustang) tomorrow to get it taken care of by the Chiropractor. I use to get upset not being able to play for a week or more...but not anymore. I know my stroke will be the same as it was before, when I get back to the table. Thanks to Mark Wilson. Johnnyt

Chiropractor? Just make a 6 foot circle of salt, 2 clay goat images, and a flaming pile of grasshoppers in the middle.

Enter the circle once a day for a week, your back will feel much better.

Doctors and hospitals have given Chiropractors a bad name over the years. I'd rather take my chance on a Chiropractor to work on my back a few minutes a week than have surgery done on my back. I worked at one of the best hospitals in Florida on the Ortho floor for almost 5 years. I've saw a 1000 or more back surgeries done and a good percentage came back again in a few months to a few years. Some were worse off after the surgeries and some got MARSA infections. No thanks. I'll take my chances with a good Chiropractor. Johnnyt

They give them a bad name for good reason. I obviously agree with the first responder, 3andstop. The best thing to do is be patient, use muscle relaxants, and let it correct itself.

i used to have lower back problems and pool didnt help. Chiropractors didnt help but a chiro did introduce me to back stretching that ultimately did fix my back problems, and i havent had my back go out since, probably 6 or 7 years ago. When i feel my back starting to get glitchy, i do 2 back stretches, and i also do them in the morning before getting out of bed. Might not help you but wanted to throw it out there

Hey bud, I seen one for years and he really helped me. I ended up having 2 surgeries, having screws and plates put in my back. Now they wont touch me for the lower back. Just last week I bought a Teeter Hang Up. I have been using it for a few days now. I came home this eve and could not hardly get out of my truck. I went and spent a few minutes on it and my back feels much better. I got mine on HSN

With 5 interest free payments of 60 bucks. Hey you get to try it for 30 days and if you don't like it you can send it back. Just a thought. Good luck

Good Luck with that Mr johnnyt

I have stenosous. I've heard that the surgery for this is very successful. I can't even hardly function right now.

The chiro just seems to hurt me. I was going to him regularly but this just wasn't getting any better.

I see the neurologist tomorrow to schedule the surgery as soon as possible.

Working at the hospitol, what is you thoughts on this type of surgery where they go in through the front of the neck.

Thanks ahead of time........

Many of the problems in the cervical spine can be better addressed through the front of the neck, leaving the neck muscles in the back undisturbed. This allows for a quicker rehabilitation of the neck muscles after the fusion heals.

Surgery is done through the front of the neck because the disc is often the cause of the pain and/or neurologic dysfunction. Reaching it from the back is dangerous secondary to the spinal cord's being in the path of getting to the disc.

LOL. Gene is a spring chicken compared to my 73 yo body. Carrying 75 to 150 lb blocks of ice off an ice truck into bars, homes, and meat & fish markets, lifting weights for the Long Island Wieghtlifting Club, amateur boxer, Cold Weather Special Forces Alaska, lifting 200lb people off the floor as a nurse, hydroplane racing, plus about of 45 years of drinking and drugs have taken there toll on this body. But it was fun most of the time. Johnnyt

A GOOD chiropractor is great but it's harder than you might think to find one. The one we went to for years intended to be a doctor, originally. I've been to both good and bad, unfortunately.

You're right. But if one damages me more than helps me I'll get even with him. I don't sue, but I always get more than even.

My wife was a nurse for 45 years with 15 of them very high up in a major healthcare company. She has her ways of finding out who's good and who's bad. Johnnyt

Actually, the AMA has bad-mouthed chiropractors for a century because they don't want to lose business. $$$

Keeping in mind that there are good chiros and not so good chiros, I'd take a chiropractor any time over using high risk chemicals marketed by the enormously powerful pharmaceutical industry.
