My back went out again and I got a G.I. Bleed from too many pain meds. Giving table, and all equipment to Boy's & Girl's Club. I'm so done with pool. It was a great ride for 60 years though. Johnnyt

Johnny, I'm sorry to hear that, I truly am.
There's certainly no reason in the world to leave here. Your wisdom, expertise, and sense of humor is treasured around these parts, so stay with us.
You never really leave, you know. When the last person departs we simply find that we are all back together again. The circle is complete.
Your pal, Tramp.

Johnny don't go

Good pool is as much between the ears as it is on the table.
You still have it there and it is worth the sharing. I'm sure I'm not alone in hoping that you will continue to share here on this site. I always enjoyed your stories and your take on things.

Mr. Johnny,

I just woke up in the very early AM Wednesday with the most excruciating pain in the small of my back. It felt like someone had just broken me in half. The pain was no where near this bad when I 1st. injured it nor when the disc actually ruptured. I've been resting with a stomach virus since. So... it may not last but my back has been pain free since.

I had been praying a bit for my back as of late as it seemed to be getting worse.

I just thought I'd let you know for whatever it may be worth to you.

Hang in there & You'll be in my prayers again tonight.

Best 2 Ya,
Rick

sorry. your heart is in the right place and maybe your health will take a turn for the better. but i feel your pain. i had to hang up my stick in 2009. no choice, i could no longer walk and protect myself. we all no where the action is and it usually isn't in a church or rec room.

i won't sugar coat it. giving up playing pool was and is one of the hardest things i have ever done. maybe it will be different for you. take care.

You will be missed sir! Enjoyed your presence here very much! Always on the side of Justice and ethics.

Hope your health improves and enjoy yourself as best you can!

Sorry to hear that Johnnyt, as a sufferer of back problems I can relate. I wish you the best.
Since you are donating your table the B&G club maybe you can work with the kids there and help them learn, that would keep you close to the game and maybe help one of them find what this game has to offer.
Good luck
Mark

The key word is back went out AGAIN. This means you have recovered before from it. If GI bleed is from meds maybe an adjustment is needed. My wife just recently experienced hell from herniated disc and thought her life was over. It was rough but she is getting better. So can you! Don't quit what you love

i'm sorry JT. (not to be confused with JA!)

take time out for you & recover. don't be hasty. pool can be very therapeutic & it's probably contributed to your 430 run the other night!

when all else fails, remember - Tramp set the bar & you have 490 posts left with us. :smiling-heart:

Sorry too hear that hope u still stick around on Az I always injoy ur posts hope u feel better soon !

Sorry to hear that. Just yesterday one of our regular players came in for probably the last time. He's now on dialysis and it is a challenge. He was more of a snooker player than a pool player but it's tough to see someone have to give up something they love.

Johnny, I'm alway pulling for you.

These things have a tendency to wax and wane and, hopefully, you'll have some relief soon.

At minimum, and as others have already said, stay with us on az as your experience and stories are highly valued.

At best, this shit will pass and you'll be back on your box.

best,
brian kc

Better said than I can, but you're in our prayers

* wish I had started this crap earlier *

Johnny, you may (or may not) be done playing pool, but you damn sure ain't done talking about it. Look at me, I hardly ever hit a ball anymore, but I can still write two books about when I used to!

Thank you all for the best wishes and get wells. No, I won't be leaving AZB, but I can't see me ever getting another table. I'm looking into some other hobbies now, even though my back won't let me do much at this time. Johnnyt[

Wendy,

I think he would rather knit you a pink thong bikini for you to wear when you meet him at poolside for drinks during The Mosconi Cup..

Best to You, KK9 & All,
Rick

Never give up JT
