Bad Problem with John Showman, (Cue Stolen)

Howard, Glad to see you back posting again. Hope your health has improved greatly.. You were missed!

Lyn

Greetings Lyn,
Thank You for the Well Wishes. I'm getting stronger each day, but have a long way to go.
Yes, I am happy to be able to post again. I've been hospitaized since August 6th
and really appreciate being able to interact with my AzB friends again.

My usual hourly rate is $350, but for you I'd make an exception and set my rate at $1,050 per hour.

Well, I have no problem admitting that I can't afford you. If you have waited this long to file a simple lawsuit while building billable hours, the bill would be astronomical!

Don't mean to be rude, as I sympathize with your situation. Just think that at some point you have to question if this situation isn't the definition of insanity. And, any high priced attorney I've ever come across would have dragged this guy into court months ago.

Secret To Winning

Step 1 -- Hire yourself as your own attorney at $350/hour
Step 2 -- Sue John Showman
Step 3 -- ... including for attorney's costs :P

You're welcome :grin-square:

Tracking number in hand?
UPS closing in 30 minutes on the West coast.

John Showman's wife, Merylane, called this evening a little after 6:00 pm with a USPS Express Mail tracking. I have not yet entered the tracking number in the Postal Service's website, but Merylane told me the package is guaranteed to deliver tomorrow by 3:00 pm. She sent the package COD because I owe John some money for the project and a 1x2 Thomas case that he sold me. I was a little surprised that the package was sent COD because I have paid John with a check after delivery of a package from him in the past. I will post one last time after I receive my cue back tomorrow.

He still wants you to pay him after all that you have been through with him? Did I read that right?

Are you going to open the box and inspect the cue before you pay COD? I would make sure to do this in front of the post master at your local post office. Do not do it in front of the postal delivery driver.

I'm not sure that the Post Office will let you inspect the contents before paying the cash on delivery amount. In any event, I will have two witnesses present when I open the box and will have one of the witnesses shoot a video of me opening the box with my iPhone.

Good luck, Mike. I hope it works out. I hope after all this the cue looks great. It is a fabulous cue.

just give UPS a check from an empty bank account, after inspected the cue and everything is right, put $ to the account.

Yes and with no discount. In any event, I'll be thrilled just to get my cue back.

You didn't quite meet the threshold of his "If you catch me in a lie 30 times in a row, you get 5% off your bill" guarantee.

What a first class loser that guy is. The only way someone could one up his level of loserdom would be to read this thread and still think it's a good idea to trust John Showman.

(And this is all assuming you get your cue back and the work is done to your satisfaction, which is not yet confirmed)
