Given the state of men's professional pool, I don't blame Barry one bit for puffing his chest out a little. He puts on a great event year after year and likes to bask in the sun a little...30 minutes of "useless accolades" could be afforded by the players and fans, who got to enjoy great pool for a whole week in a comfortable facility with a pleasant atmosphere (for a cheap price too, I might add).
The man tries to promote his sport and give homage to past greats, thereby enriching the game even more, IMO. How can you want pool to be great if not to acknowledge its rich history? Its attitudes like these that will forever keep pool in the backrooms. Have some patience with Barry, he has done a great job and will probably continue to do so. Twenty-five countries were represented this time, so I think he is doing OK.
Calling it a d$$k_sucking contest was completely uncalled for.
