Balabushka on ebay

Yep...and not even a pic of the case! I don't know how they get away with these scams. I've emailed ebay about these scams before and all I got back was a generalized letter.

I believe I have seen this scam with same pictures atleast 25 times in the past 6 months. The amazing thing is that Ebay just never catches on to things like this. I guess this is what happens in an automatic society.

Anyone know Tascarella? I'd be pissed if my letter was on ebay with a fake auction.

I've also seen this cue so many times in the last year that I feel I own it...:D

im sure pete could put this letter with this cue if needed.

my ebay is under 10 and i havent used it in over a year.

be careful... but everyone is so fast to call someone a scammer. do some homework first. maybe he didnt get his asking price before. his feedback is obv (0) in the cue didnt sell yet

who cares if there is no pic of the case. ur not buying the cue for the case.

i know ppl do scam but has anyone tried to contact the seller yet???

We have talked about this cue before in another thread.

File created: ‎Friday, ‎November ‎03, ‎2006, ‏‎12:19:43 AM, so yes it has been posted at least 3 times before by someone on ebay? I don't have my notes in front of me at this time, so I don't recall seeing the letter before?

I have this drinking game, for everytime I see a fake GB or GS on ebay, I get a shot of JTS Brown. :D

I won this cue auction last year. When i told them to send the cue to Pete Tascarella for escrow to get paid they disappeared off the face of the earth. Bob C.

Just to add a little history to the thread... This is only the second black/white/black/white ebony prong Bushka I have seen. The first time I have seen those colors in a Spain blank. Interesting cue, scam withstanding.

Well, we have 7 days to sit back and laugh at this auction.

As for the comment about Pete. This are my thoughts. The letter of authentication my be legitament for the adjoining cue in the auction, but the auction is phoney/scam.

After seeing these identical pictures more times on e-bay than I care to count there is only one conclusion that can be made. Other notables about the auction: Seller has ZERO feedback----Identical to the 30 other times it has been listed. Seller's handle is never the same name. So far the seller has remained in the Miami area.-----A great hot bed for internet scamming.

Now BobC also commented that he has already won that cue in an earlier auction, but the scammer would not respond when asked to complete the deal on Bob's terms.

Dave you must be an optimist. I personally am an optimist, but a realist through and through. I would only bid on this cue if I was could finish the deal with a pick-up/cash in hand transaction. And being that I would make sure to bring atleast 8 gunmen and a Brinks truck to little Havana. Since I was raised in FL and made many trips to the wonderful areas of Miami I have seen what happens around there.

Good luck to those who are actually bidding on this, but don't get your hopes up. I hope to be proved wrong, but don't see that happening either.

I've tried to contact the seller twice.......no response since the first day he put it on ebay.

I won it this time

And, I did get in touch with the seller via messenger after the auction closed and he sent me an email. He wanted me to pay a shipper (Blue Air something I think) thru a website that had a Romanian host. Originally, I thought wtf, I'll bid on it because I live close. After I won it I offered to drive over right then and pay cash once I looked at the cue. He was going to get me his girl friends phone number in 30 minutes, he was flying out of town at 11 PM, he wouldn't give me his name, etc. He never would answer me after that.

It was kinda funny actually! So, it was a scam. You guts were right.

I was going to e-mail you to warn you, but then I noticed you only had a few transactions, so I was suspicious that you might be part of the scam, so I didn't. Glad to see you weren't.

What pisses me off is I turned in this auction to e-bay when it first started and they let it run anyway. I'm glad that you knew enough not to get robbed, but be cautious, they still will probably send you some "phishing" e-mails to get your screen name and password.

Sooner or later, these guys will give up if they don't succeed and get real jobs.

DID YOU SPEAK TO PETE DIRECTLY? JUST CURIOUS, I MAY NEED TO ASK HIM WHAT HAPPENED, NOW THAT WE ARE SURE IT WAS A SCAM.
