Balabushka...ROFLMAO!!!

IIRC, these were referred to as Helmstetters made by Adam, when they came out. They pop up every once in a while, but this is a bit over the top, to say the least!
He's also violating Ebay rules by saying money orders are allowed for payment. They haven't been, for a couple of months now, at least. We were told if "money order" was in the listing the listing wouldn't even show up. Guess that was wrong.

Funny

WHAT!?!? Its says balabushka and it's on the internet... It has to be true.

HAHA

I've seen several "real" Balabushka cues, and never seen one with his name in big marker in the points like that..... I have seen some copies several years ago, really good knockoffs, before the prices started to really skyrocket. They were selling for $1000 to $2000, when the real ones were going for around $5000. This guy is either extremely clueless, or as crooked as the one from the pawn shop, {thats not totally straight, but very nice and very straight} I gotta start selling some stuff on Ebay....

I vote for extremely clueless! :D

First of all...George never signed his cues. Thats indeed the Adam version with that horrrid name stamp...easy to tell by the points/veneer colors. A GB-1 model. I think wholesale on them was $222ish back 10 yrs or so. For those who aren't aware, like bfdlad....whenever you see that name on the forearm...its not real.

Some very GOOD stuff

"...any questions just let me know."

Yes, just one. What have you been smoking?

So, do you think he sold this thing?? My guess is, the auction ended, and no bites. I think anyone who would pay that much for a cue, has at least a little bit of a clue, about what to look for. One of my friends sold his a few years back, and the buyer had him ship it to a place in New York I believe, and they did an authentication of it. I think he got around $11,000 for it.

Joshua tree forearm, Gold rings, Frankincense and Myrrh inlays, shroud of Turin wrap. Sold it for $500 before Jesus became a household name. Wish I had it now - it'd be worth a fortune!!! Hit like a SW!

Ok. I snorted on my keyboard on this post.

"Hit like a SW!" was the capper.

I'm quite sure he didn't sell it. I actually sent him a note giving him the bag news that it was a reproduction and I reported it to Ebay so I'm sure he just ended it.

Seller contacted me this morning. "You say it's a Helmstetter, someone else says it's an Adams. Whose right?"
What the hell difference does it make, it ain't a 'Bushka. LOL!! Completely clueless for somebody who played pool in the '70s.

Actually, I believe there is some popular legend that George signed a very few cues, and by very few I mean less than six, under the wrap. This has never been verified to my knowledge.

Not to hijack this thread but I still buy E Bay items on very rare occasions and pay with US postal money orders. I just send the seller a note asking if they will accept them and the answer is always yes..

LMAO:p That's a great one Mike. Next time I see an over prices cue I'll say.

I wouldn't pay that much if it was made out of the Arch of the Covenant and had the Shroud of Turin for a wrap.

This is almost as good as the guy that was going to sell me a new Ranger bass boat worth 45K for $7'500, the only thing was he was stationed in Iraq and the boat was locked up in ebay's special warehouse in California but he could provide a letter from ebay certifying he was telling the truth.

All I had to do was wire the money and he would have the boat delivered to my house, just for fun I told him I had a brother that lived within driving distance from ebay's headquarters and he would go take a look at the boat and could pick it up but the seller informed me this would not be possible since ebay would only unlock the warehouse when the boat is sold but reassured me again he would provide me with a genuine certified letter from ebay stating it was all legitimate. :p

Actually, Mike, the correct hype is "hits a ton".:o

Eric >weighs a...?

How rude... I politely let "liquidfertilizer1" know since he was obviously clueless about it. He called me an ass

I also sent a note regarding this auction and they told me to bid on it!

Some people are terminally stupid.

We spent, literally, hours changing our listings, and we are a power seller. I see that many people have not done so. Oh, well............
