if you could pick one living bank player to endorse a line of cues specially made to their specs for "bank" pool who would you choose? second, do you think there's a market for such a thing? third, what do you think the cost and who would buy them?

bank pool cue

I really dont think there is a certain type of cue made for banking or for even different shots. A player likes a cue for only a few simple different reasons. Weight..forward or back weighted. The hit...soft or hard..shaft stiffness...cue ball reaction...and comfort( standard or longer..I think that si about all. The only different cue you need is to break with.

Larry..... i was just curious if you were going to try and make the $25,000 added Joss Tournament at Turning Stone Casino in February..I know it is a ways off. But i think you would do well and like the venue.......mike

Why not "Piggy Banks"? A great player with the perfect name. And a good guy too!

Bank pool specs

I believe tip millimeter size, shaft taper and degree of stiffness are essential considerations for a serious bank player.

the Beard
Bank on, brother!

How about 'Bugs'?

There are three Bank Pool Hall of Fame living players -- Leonard 'Bugs' Rucker, Truman Hogue and Freddy 'the Beard' Bentivegna, of the six total in the Banks HOF. Bugs is seriously suffering from the advancement of diabetes, so he certainly could use any attention that might lead to a little support. I'm not just talking about money -- often other forms of generosity, kindness and help is just as important.

Bugs of course is generally the one Banks player that people often mention in the same breath as Eddie Taylor. Taylor unfortunately died just last year.

Not to slight Truman or Freddy, who would also be excellent candidates for you, I'd encourage 'Bugs' Rucker -- a living legend of Bank Pool!

If you are looking more for a little bit younger, active banker, then you have a lot of terrific options -- like Glen 'Piggy Banks' Rogers as mentioned earlier. Shannon Daulton would be another good one among the next generation under Truman, Bugs & Freddy.

OK Freddy, what taper do you recommend, stiffnes metric and tip millimeter?

Also, I would appreciate your opinion on shaft weight, as I for one prefer a shaft in the 4.0 to 4.2 ounce range.

Eddie Taylor (gone now) or "Bugs" Rucker (still living I think).

No, there is no market for a bank cue.

How bout weight?

Some of the bank players I knew like'd heavier cues(20oz+).Or, on second thought, was that a by-product of playing on slower cloth which was prevelant during the time frame I'm referring to?

THANKS

Piggy or Jason Miller.

Fred

I dont think there is a market for a cue specifically for banking. There are so many good bank pool players out there, and they all play with different equipment. Everyone has thier own prefrences.
