I just recieved 2 cd's,I learned about things i never thought about, grip pressure, length of bridge, elevation of cue for different shots.
I have read books and seen other books about one pocket, and they were too complicated to really help. I am interested in more tapes or cds or books that deal with the basics, not trying to impress but actually instruct.
I am not trying to learn the rules or strategy, but how to actually play better.I would also like help on how to figure banks out.
thanks
dean

I also thought the tapes were excellent, but I was a little let down that he didn't show a couple of shots from banking with the beard.

I want to see the vernon elliot banks (him doing them) and the other vernon cut into the side.

Also the 5 rail eddie taylor bank.

Little Joe's DVD's are excellent. Very well done and contain about everthing you need if you can see past the trees to see the forest. The first time I watched them I thought "show me something I don't know". The second time I watched I realized there is more info then I knew and they really helped improved my game. I think my ego was affecting me the first time.

Here is the link

The Benke family are featured and I can see why they are so good.

Maxey,
Eddie Taylor's dead, Vernon is in a wheelchair, and I'm 100 years old.
The shots that are on the DVD are brutal enough.

Check out my new, souped up website and blogs. www.bankingwiththebeard.com. I have learned how to do my own web programming, and my site is now at least 40 pages long. One big section is on The Last Days of Bugs Rucker, another, Secrets of a Hard Core Pool Hustler, with more to come. Videos, slide shows, pics, Books, DVDs,memorabilia, etc. Log on, enjoy the stories, pics, hustler instruction, outrageous opinions, and eventually, spend some moola.

IMO, the Beard's DVD is a MUST HAVE for any player. Those that don't have it will eventually be the victims of those that do. Don't be one of those victims.

Thanks BJ

It's ALL yours, Freddy! Use it to your advantage! I hope you sell a million of them!

I viewed both DVDs and what can I say? Nothing new. They are awesome! "Banks That Don't Go, But Do" is just the right name for them. There are some really sick shots, insane moves I would never imagine even trying myself - unless I viewed the instructionals Freddy produced. Okay I hardly have skill required to accomplish some of the shots featured but I at least have the knowledge now, and that's half of a deal done. Even if I make those banks twice of a hundred shots I gonna be happy. And if I practice may be even more, like three or five times ;)
I was also amuzed by short stories The Beard tells meanwhile, and describes when and where a particular shot occured. "And that's what happened to Bugs's money" :)
Thank you Freddy for you decided to reveal the old-timer's secrets. That's fair IMHO, once you learnt something from a legend pass the knowledge further. Just like Freddy was taught some shots by Eddie Taylor, and that's an honour and precious one to learn such shots, just as if The Knoxville Bear taught you himself. And, the late legends of the game are alive until their knowledge is not gone, I believe.
Great stuff, bank on and keep 'em coming!

The Beard mentioned he is going to release a DVD based on his book(s). Could be just great if you illustrate every shot from there Freddy, there are some coool banks in it, very tough and almost impossible.

Very nice post. I can tell that you love and appreciate the historical greats in our beloved sport. It's nice to see someone still honoring the memory of Eddie Taylor!
And yes, Freddy's products are must seeing / must reading for anyone who loves our great sport.

thank you for your words Terry, I was just that much inspired by Freddy's videos. Very nice product, especially in terms of knowledge sharing (technically they have space to improve). A must have really.

Freddy's dvd's

I have the dvd's a they are the shiznit,I hope for more of then as for you being dead lol what ever...:D I was doing the table length bank one nite where you play it of the round area,I keep messing it up new table etc.The room owner/cue man said to me that you need to use English on the shot... I said 20 you don't,and well do shot for shot first in wins. I made the ball before the did:D about 5 tries to his 15-20 mins.:D I would like to see the 2 mentioned shots though and the secrets to making them,I can get the side pocket bank to track right but it only goes about a foot or so.
Also you'll be amazed at how often you can apply the principles in Freddy's dvd's into a game, shots pop up out of nowhere..

the tony coleman bank also goes 4 times cross side drawing cue ball back to side pocket instead of going across the object ball. try it & let me know if you can make it. your opponents heart will fall out if you make this one on him/her. i grew up around tony, not sure if he knows this one.
