Bar Box 9 ball break strategy

All this advice really isn't going to have a material difference in your break. We all have different strokes/hits so one person's "sweet spot" probably won't work for another. Go find a table and just break, a LOT. Move whitey around and vary your speeds. You'll find a combination that clicks. As for BB, he's just like that. Sometimes his shots at comedy miss their mark but he's usually right. Gotta have a thick skin if you're gonna go forum hopping. Now, start breaking.

All of that was funny! Good God...some folks just have no sense of humor. I even thought it was a little funny someone was asking how to break in nine ball, I thought you just hit it really hard. But I only play one pocket so I could be wrong.

Here are two breaks that work very well for me...

100% wing ball break if using template rack or verify that balls are racked perfectly.

This one makes a couple of balls every time and sends the 1 up table into the kitchen for a corner pocket shot.

BC...

IS that a notebook pre-printed with table diagrams? If so, where can I get one?

'scuse my ignorance, but why hit draw on the break shot?

what effect does this have on the rack, and the cue ball?

Your response was neither intelligent or appropriate. It was a wise ass comment which I have come to expect from people on here, who have nothing better to do. If you can't read my original post and ascertain the type of strategic advice I was requesting, then you should not respond at all. Several people have posted very helpful advise which I am thankful for. Too bad you couldn't have posted some hints for not scratching on the break instead of trying to be cute.

Aim at the base of the 1 ball, not the face.

Don't post when you're on the rag.

The 1 usually ends up at the top end of the table, in my experience. Drawing the cb above the side pockets increases likelihood you'll have a shot at the 1.

1.Rack your own.
2. If you don't rack your own inspect every rack.

I always have good results with the side rail break on a diamond BB, as long as the rack is tight.

Great advice. And if your opponent brings a template rack to use, and has great break results with it every time, use his/her template and break how they're breaking. Many tournaments allow you to bring your own rack, and if your opponent wants to use it you must let them.

You sir are the Champion!! You win. I am in awe of your greatness and promise to never post anywhere again. I shall now slink away and assume the fetal position.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to read your witty response to this post, as I am donating my computer to Goodwill. I trust your minions will get a chuckle out of it. Ta ta.

But you don’t even respond to someone who thoughtfully answered your question with a great bar table 9-ball break...

Sweet.

I am actually a champion. And on a bar box, no less.

I guess you missed where I thanked the first few people who responded. My bad for not thanking everybody. But why criticize me and yet say nothing about the guy who responds with a wise ass comment and then follows it up with a crude insulting comment. People post on here to hopefully get some helpful advise, not to be abused and made fun of. I get it. The internet is a cesspool. Anyone who posts anything risks the wrath of people who want to be cute and/or mean. I just don't understand what pleasure they get from it. I'm 67 years old and probably too old to be engaging with people on the www. But hey, I'm retired. What else am I going to do.

Grow some thicker skin for starters. Its a forum full of pool players. Quit whining and go practice your break.

What backwards ass rulebook are you using?
