Bar Table Dennis Vs SVB Updates

Dennis breaks and is non-compliant. Shane plays safe freeing up the 6 from the 5 and slightly hiding behind the 6 from the one.

Dennis thins the one and sends the CB three rails behind the 5 to lock up Shane. Shane still has a one rail kick at the one which he hits but leaves the one available but with no open pocket for it.

He could shoot at a one nine combo; however, it is a very difficult shot. Dennis elects to shoot the one nine combo and misses.

Shane is left with no real shot on the one and a mess of a cluster up table on the 5,6,7. Shane plays a thin off the one safety with a break out of the cluster while hiding behind the 4.

Dennis 3 rails the one but it peeks out for Shane to the corner. Shane elects to bank the one to the other side of the cluster of balls leaving the CB on the other side safe.

Dennis elects to jump for the one, but doesn't have much chance of getting shape on the 2. Dennis bounces over the one and off the table giving Shane BIH.

Shane checks out his options on the break out of the cluster and it works out for him. He gets a shot on the 4 and runs out to get 4 games from closing out the night. 46-27.

Shane breaks and it's a legal break with two balls pocketed and the 5 and 8 passing the string. He shoots the 3 in the side and thins off the 4 to leave a cut on the 4 in the corner. He goes down table and shoots the 5 coming back up table for the 6. He leaves himself a good angle on the 7 to go back up table for the 8 although ends up a little straight and force follows 2 rails to make the 9. 47-27.

Shane breaks and makes 3 balls on the break with a shot on the 2. He makes the 2 and the only semi difficulty is getting on the 6 which he does perfectly. Shane runs out to get to 48.

Shane breaks a legal break but a kiss on the 3 from the 7 leaves him no open shot on the 3. The 4 is tied up behind the 6 down table from the 3 making getting shape off the 3 virtually impossible.

Shane pushes to a safe and is given it back, he grabs his jump cue and plays a two way jump bank carom almost making the 7 in the corner and the 3 in the side. He leaves Dennis a long cut on the 3 but he would have to break out the 4 and he does so to perfection.

Dennis almost scratches in the side and then follows that up with a rattle of the 6 in the corner. Shane runs out to get on the hill for the night. 49-27.

Shane breaks on the hill and it's a legal break. The 3 is the first shot and it's an odd cut to the side. Shane pots it and comes around 3 rails behind the 5 and 4 for the 4. Shane gets perfect on the 6 and runs out to close out the first day up 23 racks. 50-27.

Thanks Jaden.

And damn, that sounded brutal. I can’t imagine playing Shane 9B on a bar box, especially if he’s really feeling good. Must feel like a giant wall is closing in on you.

I just don’t understand why players at this level would want to play a match on a bar table, unless the pockets are like 3-3/4”.

What's to understand? It's entertaining, somebody is putting up big money, the players don't seem to have a problem with it...

I mean, if it is too easy for them, why in the world has Dennis missed more shots here than I have ever seen him miss on a 9 footer?

It's pool... between two warriors laying it on the line. I am glad they are getting in the box!

This bar box match is entertaining. They got to 50 at a great pace today. Dennis got punished on mistakes, I think that's what I like. The break got tougher as the night went on too...SVB broke and ran like 20 racks by the time his score was in the early 30s....finished the night with maybe 24 ish. Dennis maybe ran 5 racks all night long....he runs out at a much higher clip on the big table. I don't think Dennis is going to lose by this margin either.

Thanks Jaden for the detailed updates.

I agree. I don't know what Dennis did to pi$$ off the pool gods, but man was he getting some bad rolls. Toward the end it looked to me like he was just trying to get the night over with...one stroking everything, jumping up on shots, etc. Had to be frustrating as heck. SVB gave him plenty of opportunities in the 2nd half of the night.

How much is "in the middle" for this match...can't find it anywhere...??
They're saying at least $50k per side but they're also saying that's a lowball figure. In matches like these only one of two things happen, they back the brinks truck up or they basically chop the PPV money. No way to know the viewership totals on this thing. I figure only the Alex vs Tony match could draw a bigger number of viewers. The Chang match with SVB will probably be the best match of the year but not sure ppl will watch it.

The pace of play has changed a little...I think Dennis is searching for something.
34-12

Also they said Sky's side couldn't get the money up for the rematch that's how SVB got involved. Assuming SVB has a whole different set of backers for this game
If I'm not mistaken, Shane bets his own money; no backers.

Shane made the comment that he wanted to get "HIS" money back from losing the last two to Dennis . I was told Shane likes to bet his own money .

He will bet his own but he's often in with another $$ source. Seen him play a few times and that's the way it looked to me.

Nobody but the 2 guys playing know what’s in the middle. And they don’t know what’s on the side. It don’t matter.

Shane has a big piece of himself. But it’s not 100%. Does it matter? he’s not on a free roll.

Not much if any action is “As advertised” especially the bigger it gets. I’ve had pieces of matches many many times. Nobody knows with who, how much or what the arraignment was. I don’t stake. What’s that mean? Dunno ain’t putting it in the street. Neither do players.

That’s gambling, something that should NEVER be made public. Sadly some people can’t seem to understand that. They ain’t gamblers they are 🤡’s. But that’s a different topic,

Enjoy what your watching, forget the questions. Just know it’s a match there’s a winner and a loser. Enjoy the show.

Best
