Hi folks, I was just curious what the people on here thought of this. I was recently barred from playing on the Kings Bay Amateur tour for winning the seasons point race! Although i never won a single tournament! Granted i did cash regularly, but it's not like i dominated the tour, or scared anyone off!
I sorta feel like this was personal, since we(me and the tour director-Kay Higgins, recently had a run-in when i questioned her about some bonus points she had given to another player, for leaving a tournament at Fastbreaks in Longwood, which had cancelled her tournament and scheduled their own, which once i was there, decided to play in. She acted like we should leave to show loyalty to her tour, last i checked i'm not under contract to her, and i work for a living! But she gave the people who left bonus points!
When i questioned her about it , i told her it was bullshit. And she acted like i cussed her like a sailor! Then all of the sudden i was the worse person on tour, and a bad sport because i don't like to lose! excuse me! i'm competitive, i don't want to lose to Efren if i can help it! So then when i do win the points race suddenlyi'm exempt for the next season for winning the points race, even though no other season's points winner was barred the next season, and unlike me thay actually won several tournaments to win the points whereas i just went to alot of events and was a consistent casher! SHE WONDERS WHY THE NUMBERS ON HER TOUR ARE DOWN!!!!!!!!
please tell me how crooked this sounds! thanks, jeremy

I know what you mean. I was the points leader the last season they were in Georgia, and they pulled out and didnt give me anything. In the past years, they gave money and a cue or something to the points leader at the end of the season. I emailed her about it like 10 times and she FINALLY sent me one back and gave me some B.S. reason why they couldnt honor it.....Thats when the Viking Amateur came along here...its much better. Run very professionally and trustworthy. Thanks Mike Janis.

Post a phone number and e-mail address, so a few hundred of us can ask her once a day in a polite manner, until we are sure we have a straight answer.

same ol' same ol'

We are just hearing one side of the story but it does sound like you got the gooey end of the stick. To be honest I have belonged to dozens of groups over the years and have never been in one where politics and bias didn't eventually rear their ugly heads, usually sooner than later.

Sounds like it is her party and all you can do is move on, . . . and maybe make sure that you stick a knife in her now and then in her home area if you are sure she deserves it. I'm sure that more than one person has grabbed a sudden sharp stabbing pain in their short ribs and said, "damn, Hu is at it again!" I don't believe in saying things behind a person's back I won't say to their face but I will cheerfully say things to their faces, both of them, and behind their backs too. :)

I appreciate the info but i don't know if i can make it that far! i actually was talking about the Tampa/ Orlando area! there are alot of great rooms in the Tampa Bay area.(Hammerheads in Holiday, Strokers in Palm Harbor, Capones in Spring Hill just to name a few! anyway i hear nothing but great reviews from your tour, hope i can make it to a few!
thanks, Jeremy

The bonus points issue is a large lot of BS, but once you cussed her, that kind of forces her hand...

cussed???????????

sorry i didn't consider saying something is bullshit, was cussing her! didn't realize saying the word "bullshit" was such a travesty!

Throughout the years of the tour the points leaders would always bow out for one season. I knew that you would not honor that without a letter and me voicing my opinion about your unsportsmanlike conduct at several events. I am not going to bash you like you have tried to bash me. I had 28 9-Ball stops. Numbers were down due to the number of events. If anyone would like the tour to stop just tell me and I will look into it. You wanted a statement and you got it. Kay

I love one sided stories on the AZ, only to find out later that key points are left out of the story, intentional or not. Some people just don't realize what they are doing until the are kicked out or banned, and even then show up as the martyr.

Sorry if this is not the case here.

Just a thought... down here in Florida we have several existing tours that you can support. Many areas are not as fortunate as we are to be able to pick and choose. We have the Florida Pro Tour, The J Pechauer Southeast Open Tour, The Ladies Spirit, and the KBP Amatuer Tour. All fo the tours do their best to ensure that they are not scheduled on top of each other. Bringing another tour down here would certainly not help, but hurt the area (IMO - I hope I'm wrong). I know Mike (in the name of expanding his tour) probably doesn't see it that way, but nonetheless, eventually we will end up losing one of the existing tours.

Thanks and kudos to you Mike Janis for scheduling your Florida event while the Southeast Open Tour will be in Mississippi on January 26-27. If TK doesn't need my help - I will be there in Cape Coral. Send me some flyers that I can distribute here locally.

My question for you Jeremy, is that if you are unhappy with the way Kay runs her tour, why wouldn't you support or play on one of the existing tours that are already down here? It's a lot of work to set up, organize, advertise, and run these events. No matter what you think of the promoter - all of them work their asses off - no exceptions.

Just keep in mind that the KBP tour effects a lot of players, not just you. Just move on up to the regional tours or the Florida Pro Tour like many others have. Obviously by your results, you belong at the next level anyway. You will only get better playing at the next level. Sometimes tours change their rules or their formats and you have to deal with it as it comes.

Here's an example:
The Florida Pro Tour starts their events on Fridays - therefore I can't make it there on time. I'm not happy about it, but that's life. I still support the tour and believe that Kevin and Brenna do an awesome job. I can't play, but like I said, that's life - and I know that they didn't make that change to go out of their way to piss me off. I'm not going to bash them for the schedule change - I just show up most of their events on Saturdays to heckle and shark all of my friends that can show up on Friday nights. :p lol

Having lived in El Paso for many years, I know what its like to have travel hundreds, sometimes thousands of miles to play in a regional event. Down here in Florida we're spoiled - many options - easy travel - lots of events for players of all levels. It's good to have more than one option.

Yes you are black jack, we have virtually nothing here in California that is consistent. As soon as the Ron Jon Surf Park is open im going to seriously consider moving to Florida, I just hate mosquitos.
