basic 1 pocket question

Very basic. At the start of a set of 1 pocket, score 0-0, the first man breaking is considered odd or even for all subsequent games?

In other words, several games into the set, if each forgets who's break it is, you'll always know as long as you remember who broke first. So the first breaker breaks if the score is even like 3-3, or is that wrong?

If you are playing alternating breaks, the person breaking first will always break when the game score is at an even number. Not sure if that's what you're asking though.

Exactly what I was looking for to settle an argument. Now I need a few more like responses.

You got it right. The first breaker will be breaking when the score is even when alternating the breaks (which is standard in 1-Pocket).

Wait... you have your answer and you want more responses??

How many more ways can you explain alternate break?

Yes, the first breaker breaks when the total score is even. Some people will be confused if you try to state it that way, but I think most will catch on. Usually when I play, both players break for the same pocket so it's easy to tell who should break next.

He wants more responses verifying the initial correct answer, so he can convince a third party of the error of their ways.

It may not matter, though. A certain player has been told by virtually every member of the board that a shortstop is better than an A player, but he won't believe it.

Some people are just gonna believe what they are gonna believe.

Much like religion. :D

Another way to keep track is if both agree or like to break to the same pocket. It's an easy way to know who's break is next by knowing what pocket you had last game. And yes first breaker would always be even number.

Pool is too fun to play to waste time learning to count.

Seriously...you argued about this????
