Yes

Let me ask you something Gary. If you had the opportunity to be on a Bonus Ball team and live in Vegas for several months and earn $930 a week, would you do it?

Jay, you , like myself have been around a long time. I know you have a vested Ginterest in a lot going on. I will never disrespect you, Greg or Mark. I have an opinion and so do you. I don't think what is going on with the politics is healthy for anyone. And yes, I would love to play BB. Gary

The only ones playin Bonus Ball is the so called "Pros" that should have a 9 to 5 job, because none of them, NONE including DAZ can make a solid/good living playing pool full time.

This is just a last ditch effort, that's more of the reason they are behind it. I bet you cant find one of them on the BB rosters that has a bank account of 100K, not one. Now on the alternate list of players you may have 2 that could supply that, one I am certain of, and he has more then all the BB ball players combined.

SVB can make a living playing pool, tournaments and action, theres less then 10 people on earth that can probably claim to do this.

Bonus Ball is no more then a fad, game will be forgotten about in a year.
$930 a week to live in Vegas pre taxes, what a joke. $1,030 for captains.

I'll bet you $100k that there are at least (2) bonus ball players with a net worth equal to or greater than $100k.

I may be completely wrong (and often am), but I still believe these salaries are not what the players are playing for. Nor is it the playoff money involved. My belief is it is the carrot at the end of the stick that is a larger payoff IF Bonus Ball succeeds. The long term vision of BB is maybe not to the million dollar contracts of NFL/NBA/MLB. But the carrot could be $10k per week instead of 1k.

I would be shocked if the current players were still playing BB if the pay remained at $1k per week a year or two from now.

Just like all the promoters, or any other business. It's a risk at the beginning for a potential larger payoff down the road.

It's Halftime. Cheapest lesson I've ever paid for. Scott Frost coaching Tommy Kennedy Mic'd is extremely entertaining and enlightening.

I won't say who, but one of the guys on Pittsburg whispered, "Does it have to be his f***ing way every f***ing time?"

hELL YES !

You are right, Cheapest pool lessons any one can get !

I think allot of players would do it..............

Let me ask you something Gary. If you had the opportunity to be on a Bonus Ball team and live in Vegas for several months and earn $930 a week, would you do it?

Gives them a chance to do what they love and get possibly in the best stroke of their lives.
Bonus ball is a dream job for pros out there that are looking for something solid with the possibility of of boosting up this great game that we all love to play.

Most players are all over the place with expenses and many other hurdles to overcome just to get to the tournament. Winning maybe 1 out of 6 tournys and still going broke.

Now they can bring the girlfriend or family and live right there. The bills are paid and all the players involved are constantly gaining popularity in the pool world overall opening all kinds of avenues along the way.

Pretty soon we have a whole bunch of players promoting the game everywhere.

I'm sure that the people involved with Bonus Ball have talked to the players about what this could do for pool.

My hats off to all the players involved helping to make this work with their devotion it's taking to make this work.

All pool needs is something like this to make things solid and look out.

One of the most successful pool leagues, APA is growing because they need to split the teams and add players when the average gets too high.

If the pros now will be tied up with Bonus Ball that's OK. There will be more players stepping up to take the places of those that aren't there. These players will be inspired to play pool at a higher level because of this constant high level of competition with this Professional league.

It's just a win win situation all the way around.

And don't worry. The caliber of pool will not suffer at all in Tunica. There are enough heavywieghts to go around to make this another great event.

In fact if there are many top pros not making it this time and the main stream players see this the next one will be full to the seams.

Again I see the interest in bonus ball building our business of pool everywhere including building new champions everywhere because there is more reasons to play.

Win Win Win Win all the way around............

Thank you Geno. I have a lot of respect for your opinion. You make some good points here that could eventually cause me to change my mind. Right now though I'm focused on how they went about scheduling their first series of matches with no regard to existing events or their promoters who had helped them get off the ground in the first place.

Just want to say well done to the WPBL and Bonus Ball team. I've paid for the coverage this weekend and aside from a couple of slight issues with the stream (I've watched on iPad) which I'm sure will be ironed out, I've been totally hooked on it.

There are some Pool fans like myself that have no interest whatsoever in scheduling conflicts, what non BB players think of it or any other side issue. There are some supporters that simply want to enjoy the sport.

Long live BB I say.

you need another option for the poll:
TRIED TO WATCH TO NO AVAIL

we attempted to watch both weekends.
2 laptops using IE and FIREFOX.
1 ipad with CHROME.
connected to TV.
useless.

we did, however, watch TAR - Shane/Dennis - perfectly.
i voted WATCHED FREE AND WONT PAY FOR IT.

Earl's about to lose his mind

Surely you jest! ;)

Can anyone here that watched it tell the rest:

1) how was stream quality

2) a little write-up on the match

I went to wpbltv.com and see JJ's team beat Earl's 13 - 7. I'm a golfer, so I've been watching The Open - was pulling for Phil, but congrats to Justin! That, in combination with a shaky BB stream - I didn't watch BB today. But still interested in knowing! Ty in advance.

KK9 <-- hopefully gets credit for not starting another BB thread

Is that what it averages out to?I know they get paid per match..Like I think Las Vegas played 7 matches this month so be for taxes they make close to 7 k this month..Doesn't seem that bad..And I'm 100% for all things pool cause I have friends involved/interested in all pool related things..Tar created a product that ppl want..The best playing the best..That's not quitting til Justin pulls the plug..I actually feel bonus ball may help Tar in ways..However I do understand your concern with it affecting other tourneys..unfortunately competition is competition..Walmart is not gonna stop selling dog food because petsmart also carries it..Again best wishes to all involved..Later fellas..

Since your my boy Jumping ill take a lil 2 -1 and bet there are atleast 2 that have 100kin the bank..Right now..Not betting on 3..but 2..Unless u r proving a point that is pretty close to accurate..ha ha carry on..

I have no plans to watch free or otherwise. Just one more fad that will be long forgotten by this time next year. In the only glimpse I had I saw a few very bored looking pros playing a game that none of them truly understood. No one bothered to teach them the rules and they didn't seem interested enough to learn them on their own. Oh I forgot, who was it that said they all love this game? Meanwhile back at the ranch everyone is sweating their pay check each week. And that's a dose of reality!

The players sweat being paid all the time because of the things that have happened in the past but Bonus Ball has been paying on time and the players have confidence in it. As for the players love of the game, I think 75% of them really do enjoy it along with the challenge and competition. There are some that I feel are there just for the paycheck but that is fine too, they do not perform and someone fills their shoes for the next season when they do the draft.

i watched bonus ball for two days last week and will never watch it again...free or not

+1 Totally agree with this -The sooner this crash and burns the better. Maybe it will motivate someone to put out a true mens tour (8-ball I hopebut 10-ball would be ok)
