BCA Las Vegas in May

I'll be there 12th - 22nd. Singles & Team. My pitiful playing a$$ actually cashed in the open singles last year so everyone should give it a shot. Not sure if I'll be on a team, most of my pool playing friends draw their ball much better than me.

Sorry Eydie, I think EVERYTHING about the Riviera sucks except for the pool (both the tables & walking by the outdoor pool to & from matches for a good view). The buffet is atrocious. The steakhouse is fair but in Vegas you can do much better. And the table dealers are nothing but rude.

What's the matter with the pool tables?????randyg

accross the street rocks too!
Circus Circus is across the street. If you like strawberry shortcake you've GOT to go over there and get one. They're HUGE! I've never seen a serving so large in my life.

I'm jealous listening to all this talk about Vegas. :( Hopefully I'll be there next year.

located in China Town Plaza

If u eat that food u will NOT like to leave Las Vegas.I do not know how it is supposed to taste but I loved it.

No, you dont need a ticket to watch the amateur event or to shop in the vendor area. You do need a ticket to watch the pro event. It is around $10 a day I think, but I am not sure.

The Riveria is fully booked, you may want to reserve your room earlier. A lot of players stay at the Budget Suite which is very close to the venue. I heard the Somerset is also a good place to stay.

Hope to see you there.:)

Richard

THANKS for the info..;)

OK, thanks. I have never had Filipino cuisine (I don't think  ). What do you recommend?

Wow, we agree with that! We stayed there one year, but never again. Our friends owned some condos just on the west side of Orleans, so we either stayed there or at their house. We were told the Orleans is (or was a few years ago) the best place to play machines & tables, that it was the most popular among the locals.
If you love Mexican food, you must eat at Tres Lobos at the Stardust which is right across the street from Riviera! Awesome!

I can't wait to meet some of you in Vegas. I am leaving on the 17th and coming back on the 22nd. You can find me in the pool room or the craps table at the Riv. My name is Deanna. 5'5, 115lbs, brown hair with blonde highlights. I will also be passing out fliers for our next tourney in Kernersville NC>>>>$5000.00 added. Good Luck to everyone!!!

Stop by to say hello

I want to welcome ALL of the AZBilliards poster and lurkers to stop by the BCA Pool League registration area and say hello. I will (obviously) be there the whole time - but do try and grab me and introduce yourselfs.

I have been coming to this event for 10 years or so - usually as a player but now it is just working my butt off. But I want to meet you all and please give me suggestions on how to make this a better experience.

And remember, this year it is ALL DIAMONDS.

See ya in Vegas-

Wow!! You could even tempt me back to there if it weren't for the fact I have to sweat the "best cue" making it out there. I hate airline travel anymore.

Have a great event Mark! Diamond tables play the BEST!!!

Yay! I'm excited to meet you all. I can be found usually at the pool tables or one of the booth tables, or a slot machine. Please find me and say hi, I am probably more recognizable than some of you.

Mark, I got a Diamond from Glen H. last Sunday and we are just loving it. May upgrade to the pro soon.

They're holding it on mother's day!!!

I was jut looking into it, and I can't go. I was going to enter the open singles event until I found out that it's being held on mother's day....

It's my wife's first mother's day and my mom would probably have a fit if went to a pool tournament instead of visiting with her.

Oh well, looks like I have to wait for Reno after all.

Jaden,

It always spans Mom's Day.

So your decision could be to take MOMs to Vegas, too. Hey!! There's stuff for MOMs to do, even with the little ones.

It's always on Mother's Day.

I always spoiled my kids and took them out on Mother's Day, figuring that's why I was a mother. Most people go out - away from their kids on that day.

Well, my kids got used to us being together and always felt bereft when I was gone. I felt like the worst mother. Glad they are grown now so the guilt thing is gone! :p

Love to play Vegas usually I do both VNEA and BCAPL but the Smoking at VNEA is a Killer and have to stop going to it untill it changes. If i had not lost three friends this past year to smoking i may have rationalized going even though knowing that the health issues at that event are very Bad.

I will go to BCAPL just to see Eydie R and Linda C. meet.

Nothing is wrong with the tables....read slower. I said everything sucks about the Riviera EXCEPT THE POOL. Meaning the pool is good=both the tables and the outdoor wet one with the girls in bikinis soakin up the sun.

BTW, most of the refs at the BCA are incompetent too. I have seen some atrocious calls by people that have no idea what they are doing. Hopefully Mark Griffith will work on getting that better. Like I said, the pool is just an excuse to go to Vegas so I don't let the negatives of the Riviera stop me from having a good time.
