BCAPL's move?

im really pumped that the BCA national event was moved to July too. May is always tough to get away. So much better in the summer. Now if the BCA can only get a league down here in miami....I think the closest bca league to me is 100 miles away. talk about a mission to get qualified for bca nationals open.

WHY are people picking on CocoboloCowboy

just curious why Mark G and Trigger are so upset that CC is voicing his opinion on the RIV, when no one said anything to WATCHEZ and he said it had poor service, poor attitude, and poorly run hotel. Well thats a negative which you both are upset that CC had negative things to say. How about RunoutJJ calling it a "shit hotel" and neither of you jumped on him. just curious as to why you are picking on 1 persons negative comments and not everyone? are we not allowed to have opinion about places we dont like? and for someone on here to tell another person to "get the F#$% out" cause of his opinion is a little much, how about next time you post a bad opinion we all tell you to "get the F#$% out"?

just my 2 cents

That is called the Double Standard. IMHO The Riviera, and Circus Circus just were not taken care of some other Las Vegas hotels are managed to make a profit, and still use some of those profits to keep up the property. That is not my impression of The Riviera, and Circus Circus.

On my recent vacation we stay at a Motel in Santa Barbara, the property was old, but the Owner has not let the place go to hell. They keep it nice with Fresh Paint on the Outside & In. The Furniture & Room are kept up so lets say the place don't show its real age.

The LAST TIME I stayed at the Circus Circus in LAS VEGAS when I booked my room it was because of a Mailer I got that Said the "ROOMS WERE REMODELED". When we arrive we found a DUMP, and I question the advertising of NEWLY REMODELED ROOMS. I was told by Hotel Management if they Change out a LAMP, they are allowed to Advertise REMOLDED ROOMS.

We checked out the next day after staying one night, went to another property with NICER ROOMS, and made a promise to ourselves to never spend one night again in any Circus Circus Property because of FALSE MISLEADING ADVERTISING!

OK ok CC, after multiple posts, we get your point. You are a prissy little thing that needs to feel pampered. Go stay at a fancy shmancy hotel and get a bum massage with hot oil, see if we care.

Me, I stay where I feel like. If I am tired, I can sleep in the back seat of a car.

FL9ballboy. The reason we tired of CC is that he cannot just post once. It has to be over and over. It is NOT a double standard. I respect everyones opinion but after awhile he sounds like a broken record.

Surely if you have read this thread and watched other threads, you would see the pattern.

This thread was about a pretty important issue. I just wanted to try and keep it on topic. I am seeing this more and more on AZ - it is very difficult to keep on topic.

That is too bad.

In the meantime, if you don't appreciate all that the Riviera has done over the last 18+ years, than maybe you should just stay home. It is tough juggling 7,000 players, 30 events, 85 exhibitors, and keeping the rates low and the quality high.

Anybody want to try it, please contact me.

You know I don't do, or need the massage thing. But I do like a room with clean linen, and not stinking from the last guest who puked all over the carpet.

When I was young I sleeped in my car a few nights on the way to go fishing in Montana, but the car was clean. Even when I drove over the road I had a clean truck, clean sleeper, as it was my home way from home.

So people think the Rivera, and Circus Circus are world class, I think not. Some people know the difference between a Hot Dog, and Haute Cuisine, and that I know.

I was done posting about two pages ago. But then the Archers decided to keep shooting arrows at & about me, so I felt it necessary to reply.

I have been going to Sin City since I was a kid in the 50's tagging along with my parents. Las Vegas use to be clean, people dress up to go to Las Vegas, you say people standing in line to get into a show Dress in suits, or slacks & A sport Coat & Tie, and Ladies in Nice Dresses, or Evening Gowns, and the STRIP was always clean.

When you went into any of the Casinos or Hotel the personal were dress, in near & press uniforms. It was kind of a Adult Version of a Disney Amusement Park.

Today the Strip is NASTY, you have people running around Vegas in Cut Off & Flip Flops, and no one really seams to give a rats about what made Las Vegas.

People stand in the same lines for show, but some of the people look like escapees from the local homeless shelter. To me Las Vegas has lost a lot of it glitter that was what was special about Las Vegas.

I have lost count of the times I have been to Vegas, however I have been to the BCA show 10 times in total, and I have stayed in nearly every hotel on the Vegas strip at one time. I like them all in their own way.

I think everyone has missed an huge topic, and for me it is a deal breaker.

That is the average temp in Vegas during July is 106, and the lowest temp is 71, that means that it is really, really, really, hot. Like 125-128 everyday.

I'm pretty sure everyone is well aware of the summer heat, but May isn't exactly pleasant either. Thing is, I'm not going to play golf in July, just watch professional pool and maybe play in the amateur events. If I'm staying at the Rio I probably wouldn't even leave the hotel the whole time I'm there. But I do realize not everyone does it that way. It can be too hot to even want to hang out by the pool. At night it cools down enough though to make it bearable to do some hotel hopping or whatever. The heat would be one more reason to pay a premium to stay at the Rio rather than have to walk from somewhere else.

Pool Sharks will probably get a bump from the move while the Cue Club may lose a little because of it.

I checked and the highest temperature I could find was around 116. I live here and have never seen ( or heard of 120). Don't get me wrong. It s HOT. But only a few degrees more than may.

As you said, the average high is 106 - and when sun goes down, the pool is very useable in evenings.

This should be called the pissy whiney forum. To much crying, is this the place grumpy people go to die? Not to many positive post here. If you are gonna ***** and moan at least make some sense.
The average temp is 106 so that means it will be 125-128 every day! WTF
I have never been in a casino that didn't have airconditioning.
