This cue is a monster player and a true beauty. The piece of Bacote used in this is probably the best looking and one of the most uniquely figured pieces I've ever seen. The cue is straight and has the normal blue'n of the shaft.

Price: 350$ shipped anywhere in the Lower 48

i don't get it, why would you play with a jump/break?

the tip wouldn't be hard enough to jump balls well/break well if it was soft enough to play with...

By whose standards?

Trust me this cue can do it all. If there is one cue that is a true master of the table it's a Gilbert J/B. Ask around on here you will see.

I happen to have always played with my Rick Howard jump break cue....it has a hard tip i breakem hard with it and still play with it, it plays awesome no need for another cue....I guess if you get used to playing with a hard tip your fine......

Even though they have a second pin, the Gilberts are well-balanced and they can outperform many of the well-known customs in terms of playing.

One of my all time favorite playing cues is a rosewood Gilbert j/b with a Moori tip. In my experience it plays better than many cues costing quite a bit more. You simply cannot go wrong with a Gilbert j/b.

I've had a couple people ask about trades. I'm really not looking for a trade but I suppose if the right offer came up I might be interested.

I had a Cocobolo JB set up with a Moori Medium...it played very well, broke well and did OK with easy jump shots...but not too well with the tight jump shots. These are the Ultimate All Around cues.

I hit a few balls with this cue the other day, and Pimp isn't lying. It really does play great and breaks good too. I have a regular tip on my Mace, and it plays and breaks just fine. Of course a real hard tip would make it jump better, but it jumps good with regular tip.

J/B playing

I shoot with my sledgehammer and can play lights out with the cue and the cue has a phleonic tip. There are limitations but you must know them and then there is no problem.I can draw the rock the whole table plus and spin the ball like a champ.

whats the tip diameter? and would you happen to have any pics of the shaft? not much a fan of the blueing.

Market

I don't think it's the market per say.I think it has to do with the material of the cue and price also.I would buy this cue asap but I'm not a fan of bacote that much.I like purple heart and cocobolo and others.

I feels like its a hair under 13mm. I really don't have anything here to measure it with.

well, i guess it would just seem like common sense.

break doesn't matter too much b/c you can break soft, and as long as you have a fluid stroke and good body-follow through get a good spread and pocket a ball just as well as if you hulk-smash it, but when jumping a ball it's so much easier to use a regular jump cue with a penolic tip or at least a rock hard triangle... unless the cue has an X hard tip on it.

im basing this on a ted harris jump/play that i owned... it didn't jump that well at all, but the cue hit like a monster. once i switched tips to an xhard talisman i was able to jump a little better, but then i couldn't cue as well with it.

finally i just broke down and bought a lucasi jump cue which i have to this day. i love that lil bastard... i've jumped with jump/breaks and imo the 30 dollar lucasi jumper hits better than x breakers, sledgehammers and other combo cues. hell it jumps better than the frog (which im ashamed to say i to owned). however, i tried using the predator air.. that thing jumps like a damn pogo stick.. but not that much better than my lucasi. definatly not good enough to warrent the extra 100 dollars i'd be paying for it.

That Bacote is just a beautiful piece of wood isn't it? Your cue looks Fantastic! My Bacote will be finished by the end of this month. It is a Lane Simons cue with no points (i did not want to take away from the good looks of the wood), just straight Bacote with brass rings and malachite. He makes a great cue and is local to metro Atlanta, Ga.

Good shooting with your new cue.

I might be interested. Couple of questions. What is the tip Diameter? What length is it? What is the ferrulle material? What is the ferrulle lenght short or long?? What is it pro taper or standard straight taper? one shaft or two??

Pictures of the shafts may answer some of these questions.

Thanks!

I bought one of the first Joss resin joint break cues once, and broke and kept going. I ran a whole bunch of racks with it. The balance and consistant hit was everything I liked in a playing cue. Some body buy this great cue.poolrod.
