I will offer to host the Bergman/Dechaine match at Teachers Billiards in St Peters MO. I'll PPV the stream. I'll guarantee each player $1000. They can bet their own.
Here's the format:
9 foot Diamond Blue Label
Friday Night 7p: Race to 21 8Ball
Saturday Afternoon 1p: Race to 21 9Ball
Saturday Night 7p: Race to 21 10Ball
Not a best of 3 sets but total games won determines the winner.

Great match up- although it is not certain that these are the top 2 and 3 players in the US
The ppv pays the players 500 to 800 most of the time .
I've been arguing this on here for years. A best of several shorter races that would still equal about the same total number of games as a race to one hundred would is better for a lot of reasons, some of them mentioned below.
-There is much more pressure on both players. Every game is more important, and requires more effort and concentration and the ability to deal with that pressure.
-There is more quality play because nobody can ever give up or let up. In long races when somebody gets far ahead or far behind it is all too common to see them go into coasting mode or give up mode. I want to see the "fighting tooth and nail" mode from both players at all times.
-It is so much more exciting to watch because whoever is behind in any shorter race always has a very realistic chance of being able to come back and still win it. Races to 100 are invariably snoozefests after about a third to a half way in because one person gets too far ahead and the ending is anticlimactic and not close 95% of the time.
-Shorter races will get more viewers and therefore make more ppv money and that leads to more of these matches. Many people didn't buy races to 100 because they couldn't watch the whole thing, and they aren't going to pay to watch just the beginning or middle of a match. They probably would buy the end of a match (last day) if it were still close and not a foregone conclusion, but 95% of the time it isn't close by then and so they didn't end up buying the last day either. On the other hand, people that can't watch all the days would still buy the first, second, or last day of a match that was many shorter races because they get to watch entire races that meant something.
And for those that don't want a best of several shorter races because it is possible to win more total games but lose more races and therefore lose the match...well it is possible but would rarely happen. And in the cases where it did happen, the guy that couldn't come with it when he needed to lost. I see no problem with that at all.
Doing five races to twenty one (for a two day event), or seven races to fifteen (for a two or three day event), both equal about the same total number of games as a race to one hundred but are superior in absolutely every way possible.
Hey pal, don't let the facts get in the way of a good story.

10 ball race to 100....Lets find out who is the second best American player. Anyone else want to see this happen?[/QUOTE
I like the race to 100, the best player will be identified.
The races to 100 have passed their usefulness. How many comebacks have there been in them - two?? How much excitement is in them -- zero. I said this a long time ago. Time to move on to multiple races. Race to between 20 and 30, win by two. Put up multiple sets and if tied after the 4th or 6th set then double or triple the bet on the last set.
Beyond all of this --- how many times has Dechaine gambled with someone even the past two years? If Bergman will play, if he is getting $1000 from a streamer, he should be crawling over dead bodies to get to the table.
