I'm glad to hear it. I'm 68, so maybe I have a few good pool shootin years left. I have never been through the south and hope to make it one of these days.

Ronnie Allen?

I'm not sure of his age or of his current location but he seems to be at Hard Times in Sacramento often enough to think he still lives in CA.

I watched Ronnie play jrhendy at one of the Hard Times events (one pocket) and Ronnie was still pulling off some of his old magic.

That was a couple of years ago at the Spring Fling, and your right, he did play good in that tournament. We both finished 9-12th. You can hardly get him to play anymore, but if he did he would be at the top at 69 years old.

I think George Michaels is a LOT closer to 65 than JAY.

My best guess is he's between 60 and 63.:)

Parica

Even though he has lived in the Los Angeles area for many years, Parica does not count. He came from a different Universe! Not one populated with mere mortals like the rest of us.

Jay, I have the feeling that if Shanelle had come out to give you your birthday spanking, you would finally admit to being 100 years old.

I am so tempted to hold your true age hostage, Jay. All I would need to keep it safe is the return of my half gallon of Black Jack Daniels that Scotty Townsend absconded with or at least the price to replace it. Whadaya think? Can we deal?

John, I'm very flattered that such a fine player as yourself has such a high opinion of my game.

I am 67 and I have been very lucky with health and eyesight, and still have enough stroke to move the cue ball around a little. I am one of the waiting qualifiers for the IPT. (wish I had my dough back)

People tell me that you are still playing real good and will still play most everyone. You certainly get my vote as an all around top senior in No and So Cal.

I believe Jerry Matchin is in his early 60's. We played together on a team and took 2nd place at the BCA open early this year. Bill Houck is a very good player but I believe he just plays rotation games.

In 9 ball I think I would win more if I had my break from yesteryear. Not too long I was in the hot seat at the Hard times in Bellflower and a woman came up to me and said " How can you be in the hotseat you have the worst break in here." I didn't know what to say and just smiled at her.

Oh yea. You certainly have me on golf but I'm making some progress with one hole. Lets stay healthy John and maybe someday we'll be on top as super seniors. Ha! Ha!

Frank, you're on top of everyone's list out here. We're lucky to have you. I love that story about the gal that said you have the worst break.

Let me go on record as saying that Frank The Barber has managed to beat everyone on the West Coast for decades and remain under the radar the whole time. If you look up "Low Key" in the dictionary you will find Frank's photo. This is a guy who could beat Efren 7-1 in a match at Hard Times and tell everyone with a straight face that he got lucky ALL seven games.

Frank has been winning matches (and tournaments) all these years when he can't make a ball, never gets position and has the worst break in the world. Figure that one out!

Ernesto is 52 so he's not there yet... Morro/Kong/Galindo/Arturo are all about the same age. 56-62 range. Frank is a hell of a player. If Frank had a break, not too many people would like that action. When you mention Jerry Matchin, Ron Marshall should be right there also. Bill Houck is definitely one the better older players. I have had the privilege of playing with a lot of old school players and I can honestly say I've learned a significant amount talking and playing with them. Lorry is not that young either and he can definitely get down. Too bad he's not playing much anymore. See everyone at HT next week. peace

My break has never been great either and it's much worse now. I even bought a Hammerhead Break/Jump Cue from Ed Ames, and it helps a little, but not good enough to get me barking about playing too much 9 Ball with anyone. You mentioned you still have good eyesight. I have always had to wear glasses and I think I see almost as good now as ever. I played King Kong some one pocket during the tournament up her in June and I back cut a ball to win a game and it drove him nuts. Morro was watching and enjoyed it as much as me, even though he was probably in with Bernardo. He took the heat and raised it for the last game and didn't like that either. It was a small dent in the money they won betting on Ernesto's son Oscar, who is starting to look like a player.

You are right about staying in good health. Too many friends and family are gone. I hope I get to start a thread like this when we are 80. John Henderson

No, a little less than that....George and I are about the same age - we used to play each other back in about 1970.....so I believe George is between 57 and 59 - very likely 58.
