best hitting cues

I think it's all personal preference, but I'll bet if you could cover up the butt and joint of the same stick, give it to someone to hit with, change the tip a half dozen times to different ones, that person would think they had 6 different cues. :)

3andstop,

Well put and I think if you had 6 people trying the six tips you would have different favorites.

Hands down the best hitting cue ever was the house cue I had in my hands when I had to fight my way outa Buddies one night. That sucker hit like a dream! I mean it was sweet the way it busted ass so effortlessly.

In the year that I've been back to pool I've bought about 15 custom cues. Most were good players and anyone could adjust to any of them if not be very happy. I personally like something similar to a pro taper but many top players like a very stiff hitting cue. I always let everyone hit balls with all my cues, and the one that everyone likes best, especially the hit, is my Olney 6 pt cue. I'm not going to try to describe the taper but suffice it to say that it hits very stiff. They have to be one of the best hitting cues, and they are still reasonable but the waiting list is getting long...Tom

This is the same question ask over and over, thousands of times. OPINIONS, is just that. Do not take someones word for it, we all have a differance of OPINIONS. One guys says it's a good hit the next guy says, Oh, no, so and so's hits better.
It's really not a good question....Just think about it, it's another persons, opinion.

It's someone's opinion, your depending on, with the investment your going to make buying a quality product, should you take anothers word????????

I'm pretty sure if your going to buy a new truck or car, you will TEST drive it, not take your friends word on what to buy, because, IT'S HIS OPINION, NOT YOURS....
You must be your own judge, in this spot..

I, for one, would NEVER take someones word on what is best, for my dough.......

BLUD

special tapered broom stick with Hello Kitty stickers stabilized by the love juice of a virgin maiden, with a ferrule made of a bone of a lions penis. Here is the catch what gives it that special hit is the tip made from the compressed leather of old unwashed jock straps from the 1940's. This cue would have the sweeeetist of hit that all the custom cue makers would do seppuku.:D Not only that but if you twirl it like a batton it will hustle your manhood right out of you. SCARY frightening fearsome

everyone says southwest best hitting cues whats close ive heard capone cues any others

There is no such thing as the best hitting cue, unless you are referring to what is best for you. Because there is no best hitting cue, each cue has it's own individual hit. While cue makers strive to make repeatable hitting cues there are too many variables to allow for every cue built by anyone to hit exactly the same including South west.

So, in my opinion there is will never be the best hitting cue, due to how subjective the question really is, and the differing opinions of players who use these cues.

Oh and by the way, if anyone says that every cue they build, or every cue made by a certain cue maker is a Monster Hitter, Hits a ton, Crushes the balls like no other, and on and on this is just hype. Where I come from when people can only use these subjective terms to describe cues they really need to be educated on the above subject. Because they do not know how foolish they look.

Hope this helps, and no disrespect intended for your question, nothing that I said is directed at you.

I think that is ridiculous.

Considering you can get a 4pt 4 veneer Scruggs for under 1k!

best hitting cue

production line....Lucasi very consistent thru all their models < $300

custom cue....... less than $300.....RAT cue, Ryan does a nice job

custom cue $1000 or more I lean towards Michael Bender.

I must agree, for a Sneaky Pete that is certainly out line. But if the cue maker can get, I can't fault him!!!!!;)

My only question is if people are paying that kinda price for a Sneaky Pete, and they are, what are these people thinking? Do you think that the buyers are that uneducated about what they are buying, or what?

In the end, I agree with you!!!!!!

Confidential

This question is too much personal.
So, I would not answer ;)

(Tell no body that I play with an Omen cue, the best hitting cue never seen before:cool: , like many others)

The only thing I see is objective about the "hit" of a cue is only if it inspires or robs confidence in your ability, and therefore delivers those results. I do see physical feedback as essential to muscle memory, but I've been schooled by enough houses and near-broomsticks to know that a cue is a very finite factor. And a small one at that, IMO.

Some cues hit hard, soft, crisp, whippy, whatever...in the hands of other players, especially in different conditions, the "best hit" will vary.
