The cue looks pretty nice from here too, I fancy the joint and the wrap work, he pulled it off quite nicely.

Sooo, where's the Sneaky?

This cue has a SS joint, black joint collars, RING WORK, split butt sleeve with even more ring work, and a WRAP.

Not exactly what I would call a "Sneaky Pete"! :p

Dave's Break/Jump Conversion

I have one of Dave's Break/Jump conversions and i can tell you he does very good work . This cue breaks a ton and jump pretty well also the finish and balance are awesome . Here are some specs and pics.

The thing that frustrates me about this kind of post is, why do people have to say so and so's is better than everybody elses? You can promote cues on their own merits without insulting 99.9 percent of everyone else. Great cue for the money, give them a try.
 
Everyone is entitled to thier own opinion. Has everyone forgot this is the USA. Well for most of us anyhow. Thats whats great about where we live. I have determined if you do not like a post, keep on moving. Lee is certainly entitled to his own opinion. If you do not like what he has to say, move on! I think its great he thinks so highly of this guys cues. Its no worse than the thread of worst hitting cues here a couple weeks back.

has been building these players "sneakys" for many, many years and will build them in any configuration (joint, wrap/no wrap, etc.) that you want. Some of the better/best players in the Norfolk/VA Beach area, and beyond, play with these cues. I believe that Dave's association with a VERY well known cuemaker has greatly contributed to the way these cues play, and I can say from experience, these cues are players.

And, as you probably know, Dave has been a high level player for a long, long time and is neither getting started in cue building or playing.

It's been several years since I purchased one of Dave's "sneakys", but I'm told that his prices are still extremely reasonable.

You know, it would be wonderful (albeit, boring), if internet forums were all sunshine and lollipops, but the fact of the matter is, they're not. And yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

As I have already previously stated, but appears to have been overlooked...not terribly surprising, in this day and age of scanning posts as opposed to actually comprehending the text posted...I have nothing against Mr Bollman, or his cues, as I have no experience with them.

However, because my focus in cues changed a while back to those commonly referred to as 'sneaky petes'...or players' cues...I 'd like to think I have a bit of knowledge in this arena. Since, as some purists will point out, a sneaky pete is just that....devoid of any 'extras' or ring collars...this would fall into the category of a non-veneered full splice cue. Or to be more correct still, this is a house cue conversion.

There are those few cuemakers who are actually building their own full splice blanks for cues such as these...and that is where my true focus lies. They have have the true control over how well, or not so well, that their cues are going to play....from the ground up. The point to my previous post is that is it those cuemakers who have taken the time to craft these types of cues that might take a bit of offense at the braod statement that was made. Nothing more, nothing less.

As to the the mention of a previous thread concerning the worst hitting cues...again, everyone is entitled to their opinion, as long as it is not overtly offensive...and some of the information contained in that thread may in fact save someone a lot of money and/or disappointment. That thread was representative of the true spirit of AZ's original intent....some straightforward, honest dialog...whether it be about the game itself, the players involved, or the equipment available.

With all of the above said...I wish Mr Bollman continued success in his cuemaking endeavor.
