Best player in Alabama?

Hello and happy holidays to everyone! A friend of mine and I(yes, contrary to popular belief, I do have one or two:p ) had a little disagreement the other day about who the best player in Alabama other than Scotty Townsend was(Scotty being clearly better than any others, so we threw him out). Like I said, there was a little argument, and I figured that the az crowd is fairly knowledgeable. So for any of you that are familiar with our state, we would love to hear some ideas/nominations. Thanks, and Merry Christmas!

Trying to be the "good AZer" I Googled "Best Player in Alabama" and I got this guy (really, page 4 I think) -- doesn't he make a jump cue? :)

I've never seen the guy play, but I know he's always a contender in the National Amatuer Championship. Robert Hall, how would he rank?

Scotty W.
Harold M.
Roadman
Tater

They all play well enough to take down the cash.

Mikey Laney would be one of the best. (but you know that already)

You ain't too shabby yourself, I'll give you the "honorable mention" award.:)

Scotty still lives in Dothan. Thanks for the honorable mention, but I know of a few(at least) that for sure play better than me. Laney and Roadman for sure, and quite a few others most likely. I thought Mike, but my buddy had another in mind(can't say, don't want to knock anybody) . Just curious to see anybody else's thoughts........

Stop knocking .... since the egg is already broken, I would have to say that Roadman is the best all-around player (Scotty T excluded although I've got to think I like Roadman in at least the one pocket).

Also, Laney doesn't live in AL anymore.

Roadman

When I talked to Roadman last he was moving from here (Greenville, MS) to a town outside Chicago. I don't think he's in Alabama anymore.

??????????

In the all-around Roadman is tops for the Cheese in my book. He looks younger than he actually is an gets lots of Action...........

Donnie Pinson if he is still playing. Ricky Peppers always played all games real strong.

Roadman tops the above list.

As a teenager, 35 years ago, I played a guy in Foley, Alabama. He certainly wasn't the best player in the state, but that day he was good enough to beat me.

We had gone down to Gulf Shores for spring break and I had a monster hangover. Played this guy on the fastest 'cloth' ever. I remember paying another fellow 25 cents per game to rack. That day also had the bluest sky I've ever seen.

Lost a little money in Foley, but made it back and then some at the Crossroads (?) tavern on the Florida/Alabama state line. The local guys there showed us their KKK cards. It was a different time in America.
