Best Pro Stroke?

Buddy Hall's choice?

It looks like Buddy Hall gets the most votes on this thread. But Buddy was doing Accu-Stats commentary once, and the other commentator asked him who had the most accurate stroke he had ever seen and he replied Mike Sigel.

Interesting since Sigel is an "elbow-dropper." :p

Back in the day, Jeff Carter was one of the smoothest of the smooth -he possessed a great stroke - phenomenal accuracy - and an awesome mental game. Jeff is by far the most fundamentally sound player I have ever seen, and his name deserves to be mentioned in this thread.

im not sure how you define best stroke, but one player that seems to never get mentioned is andam. ive seen this man move the cueball buddy hall quality... an amazing player.

Francisco Bustamante , he has the best strokeoil in his Body...:outtahere:

Second : Earl " the Pearl " Strickland !!!

I think Allison may have some of the most consistent fundamentals. She's very, very controlled but the stroke really isn't anything exciting to watch.

It's definitely fun to watch Efren move the balls around.

I think it's hard to quantify how good a stroke is by just looking at it. I think you have to use a results-based analysis, and that's why I pick Buddy Hall. I have never seen anyone move the cueball with such ease and precision as that man.

When it comes to fundamentals in pool, I think Mike Sigel may very well have the straightest stroke I've ever seen from all the Pro Player's, who do you think does and why??

Why is Sigel called "Captain Hook"? No accident. He's got a "hitch" if U watch closely. I play like a snooker player chin on cue, open bridge.

Proof's in the pudd'n. Efren "Bata" Reyes doesn't have a straight stroke at all, "like the majority of Pinoys", Look at Django, his stroke is up and down like rocking chair. Yet it's quite fluid and expertly placed when it's actually time to address the White?? Pick a game??? 3 Cushion, One Pocket, Straight pool, Bank Pool, Snooker In his prime, Mosconi and Greenleaf could probably keep up with the Magician, any others?

As an added bonus who doesn't like someone that plays completely naturally, no glove, switch hands, and if U aren't observant, U won't even know it. No Sharking, Humble. The Polar opposite of ES.

Stance and stroke,Mike Sigel bar none, imo. Tip....watch and look at his bridge hand. His palm ( on alot of his shots) Is not on the table like all the books tell ya to do.Allows for a smoother stroke, imo again.John B.

sorry to go a bit off subject, but does anybody know which kind of cue (rather shaft) mike siegel used to play with (or currently playing with), and which kind of Tip he is or was using?

i'm asking because i like to strike the ball similarly as he does and i like a nice follow through, and some spin.

if anyone knows, i appreciate it.
thanks

Watching the pros for decades, and most mentioned in this thread, the straightest motion (that is delivering the cue along the intended line of aim) I remember observing was Danny Medina.

I've knew Cole when he was 14/15 yrs old, he was running triple digits in straight pool, Don't know if he did't like bank shots then or not but in 9 ball if he could see the ball he just cut in without touching a rail.
Cole "the stroke" Dickson without a doubt !!!!!!!

I've been around top players for 30 years and the most beautiful and powerful stroke I've ever seen has to be Shane Van Boening's. When he gets a decade or two experience behind that, he could wind up the best American player of all time.

That Guy Billy Gibbs ( i think) on Accu-stats pointed out how SVB moves his arm sideways (watch the opposite side of the bicep) just before he forward strokes- Some kinda correction he does in between forward and backward stroke.

Hands down I'd say Ray Martin. His stroke, even in his 70's, is as straight as an arrow and smooth as silk.
