Best selling pool DVD in history?

Rempe/Fusco

I wonder what the number one accu-stats match (or instructional) video is?

I wish pat or someone else involved with accu-stats were directly interacting with people on this forum.

If you counted the color of money (efren vs earl) set as separate DVDs, do you think they'd beat 2000? Maybe that's not such a hot seller since you pretty much must shell out a bundle for the whole set.

For a long time the best selling accu stats match was Jim Fusco and Jim Rempe playing a race to 5 Onepocket at the Philly Legends tourn in the 90s. It was 3 hrs long, originally on VHS and later converted to DVD. The commentator was me of course, along with several color guys including Lou Butera. A great match to learn the intricacies of One hole.

Freddy, that's kind of surprising. Maybe because good 1p instructional stuff is so rare so players rush to snatch 'em up?

I was first turned onto accustats by a 1p fanatic. He showed his large collection of vhs tapes and I got the impression is was pretty much his main resource, maybe his only resource. They don't exactly crank out hundreds of books on the subject. The few good ones sell for like hundreds of bucks on ebay.

I'd forgotten about kinister, he's gotta be up there too. Even if he only sells 100 of each tape he's made like 8723572943491834 tapes so he's gotta get the casshhhh.

I think you either misread or misconstrued my words. I don't think I ever said that. In fact I'm sure of it. I can remember Pat Fleming telling me that a top selling video/DVD might sell 1,000 copies in a year. I suspect Bert Kinnister's videos and DVD's to be among the top sellers of all time. I'm certain he has sold well into the tens of thousands and probably more than 100K in total sales.

I don't mind you quoting me, just get it right.

Jay,

Here's what you said. If I misunderstood you, then I apologize (although I dont see why it would matter in either case)

Either way the top sold pool video is a trick shot video...
"Mind Blowing Trick Shots"

The most watched Video is Ppooler "Trickshots" This is a fact...Not even a close second anywhere so far. If he would of got a penny for everyone on earth that saw his video he would have over 30 million dollars.

An expert level Mastering Pool DVD is currently in the works, scheduled to be filmed around Christmas.
that's great news, an instructional for advanced players from Mika!

I am a straight pool fanatic and I was wondering if you and Mika ever thought of doing a straight pool instructional.
Nathan, note Mr Walsh is not the only straight pool fanatic over there ;) There is a whole AZB forum section full of them. And good 14.1 instruction has always been sought after. The game seems to be back from oblivion (as it almost was there) and gains popularity. Mika is a very strong 14.1 player, so maybe you manage to shoot two instructionals at once since he is a very busy man? One for general play and one special for straight pool?

As for Mika doing narration, it is not necessarily all the way, but to be able to read player's mind you need to know what he is thinking in a certain position. So I suggest that in some situations he just talks his thoughts out loud, that should be enough.

Volume 4 (the expert level volume) will contain a high-run 14.1 with Mika's commentary in the special features section (similar to the other 3 volumes). Speaking of which, you just requested that Mika speak his thoughts out loud in the videos, but doesn't he already do that in the runout section?

Looks like you are half right and so am I. I said that I didn't think 20,000 copies of any pool match DVD had happened yet and I doubted that any pool match video had even sold 2,000 copies. I'm still not certain that there is a pool video of any kind that has sold 20,000 copies. By now there may be an Efren match that has reached 2,000 in sales. That's more likely.

A few months back I read a thread where Jay claimed that no pool DVD has ever sold more than 2,000 copies. Can anyone verify this statement, or perhaps suggest a DVD that has exceeded this level of sales?

Please exclude the obvious, like the Hustler, Color of Money, etc. I'm talking about industry videos here. Instructional, matches, etc.

The reason I ask, is that I've sold over 7,500 Mastering Pool DVDs since it's release just over a year ago. Could the series be considered as the top selling instructional series of all time?

This is a great instructional set,i would of liked to of seen Mika narrate it.

I decided to continue in Mastering Pool review thread in order not to post off-topic.

Just my two cents for you Nathan. Those tapes are beautifully done, and I would buy anything that Florian kid does. He's amazing. Market the hell out of this. I can't wait
