Best way to sell a 9' Pro Am Diamond +

Two Universal Truths;

1. The table doesn't make the player.

2. Money doesn't care what kind of table it's won on.

All glory is fleeting. It's just a matter of time. Diamond tables will go the same way GC's have gone. Even beautiful, well endowed blonds get old. And there's nothing quite as sad as a worn out old blond with droopy boobs.

Most great players don't buy a pool table.

Most people that own pool tables don't buy them for gambling.

Did you see all them OLD guys chasing after that old blond because they can't get anything else unless they PAY for it.

I have seen a couple Diamond tables for under 3grand, one is currently for sale for $2600. I think that price is due to where I live, as I live on the border, in a poor state, in an economically depressed area. Also don't know anything about Diamond, so maybe they are table models not in high demand.

The older Diamond oak Professionals go for between $1500- $3000.

This is probably it.

A new 9' Pro Am is $5900.00 plus delivery or freight), tax, and install will vary from company to company. 9' light is $800(not including wiring, bulbs and install), ball polisher is $500. Not sure about the stool set he has included.

$7200 for what I have listed here. Not including the other $$ I am not listing.
He was likely in it for at least $8500.00.

Blue label Diamonds hold their value very well!!

Just my $0.02.

Thanks guys, I do believe the tables I saw are the older oak versions RKC mentioned.

What do you gentleman think of those particular tables?

Not downgrading Diamond, but you couldn't give me, not even for free, some of the early Diamonds, they had to many design flaws in them.

I have learned a lot in this thread, as always appreciate you guys answering questions. Hope the fishing has been good.

They still sell for a decent price "as is".
Actually, they sell for far more than old GC's do.
I sell them between $3500-$4000 restored. but, I completely refinish them, new pockets, new
Diamond Black K-55 or Championship Tour Edition K-55,
polished aluminum feet and new Simonis. Here are some examples of them:

Which one of those Diamonds had plywood frames, not timberstrand???

This isn't a sales thread to market the sale of your pool tables, which is what this post is, has nothing to do with the OP subject....or maybe I just need some more coffee!!!

Now that you made me think. I wanna say the black label did? I will look at the pool hall next time I am there!

I was under the impression from Glens comments over the years that the black label was simply a color option for customers to pick from, and there is zero difference between black and red label tables.

PS, I know everyone has their own tastes, but I've always hated the look of flat sawn oak. The grain pattern is simply too overpowering. I don't know why Diamond made that the main wood, especially in the early days. Hell, Birch would have looked better IMO, and it is usually less per board foot than oak, and similar hardness.

If I ever got a Diamond table, I'd probably pay a premium for them to make it using maple wood, even if I wanted it painted black. I can't stand the open pores on oak, and the huge cathedral grain patterns.

To each his own, as far as beauty goes:)

Here is the post in case you missed it!

P.s. Here is a Pro Am w/ light one piece set up going for $4000.00

Yeah, and he is selling it for 4k, and says he paid 8k for it. So where is the 75% to 80% value maintained that the Diamond Reps keep claiming.

Also of note, and the most important part, that is the asking price. Will it sell through? And what will be the final price if it does sell through.

Same question for the OP's table.

Glen has in a roundabout way answered my direct question to him, that he does not deal in sales. That means all the "used" tables he has sold he acted as delivery and setup man on the behalf of Diamond, who made the sale as a dealer directly with a private buyer.

Kind of like when you buy a used Camry from the Toyota dealer, you will pay more than if you buy it from your next door neighbor. You get the full dealer service, for the higher price you pay.

Again, you fail to understand the separation between the sale price of the table, and the final price upon delivery. I just delivered a 9ft ProAm to Boise, ID....$9200 delivered, if he was to turn around and sell it for $5k does that mean he lost almost 40% in value??? The table sold for $6k, shipped out to me by freight, in a crate, with a 3 piece slate. Shipping, delivery, and set up in on TOP of the cost of the table, it's not the cost of the table. Yes, the math says he paid $3200 additional to the cost of the table, you DONT get to collect that back when you sell the table....that's on the seller, the buyer has to pay a new delivery cost on top of buying that used table, that's on the new buyers shoulders!!

So, the $8k was NOT the price of the table!!!
