I have been trying to locate Bill Stroud, but I can't reach him. I would like him to do a cue repair on a Joss West and some other items for me. His web site states a phone number that is no longer in existance and his emial noted is bogus as well. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I heard Bill retired and is selling or has sold his equipment, but this is only hearsay.

Bill had a thread on the forum stating that Joss West was for sale. I don't know what happened after that and it was a couple of months ago when I saw the thread. He is a member of this forum and posts occasionally......

bstroud is his screen name on here and he last logged on 8-4. He posts occasionally but not very often.

Josswest

If anyone has any ideas for Josswest repair / refinish I would like to know as well.
It is my understanding that he has retired but he seems to be doing some work for certain people.
My first preference would be to have Mr. Stroud do the work but if that isn't possible who would everyone recommend....I was thinking Mike Webb, Scott Sherbine, or RAT.

Thanks
Ted

I agree that Ariel does excellent cue refinishing and repair but I'm not sure the pricing given here is current.

Martin

I would send it to Ariel Carmeli, he does great work, good turn around time, and he does repair & refinish work at very reasonable prices.
example: Refinish w/ new leather wrap $200

My problem is that the ivory butt cap has been chipped.. a big chip! Who would you trust to fix this properly?

Will, the correct area code is 505.

Only if the whole state is 505. Otherwise 505 is only representing the upper northwest quadrant of NM. Ruidoso is 575. I would suggest calling Ernie Gutierez. Stroud is very tight with him. Another option would be to call a high end dealer or collector.

RAT is highly recommended. Bryan Mordt's finishes and repairs are some of the best in the business. Prices and turnaround times are exceptional as well.

Refinish by BCM

I can attest to Bryan Mordt's work. not only in my own experience, but
when I was last in his shop, a collector had sent one of the "Big fish Little Fish" DPK's ( i believe there are only 5 ) to be refinished by him. As well as a gentleman who owns one of the other 4 from Phx was talking about dropping his off with Bryan as well. Those of you who know what these cues are. will be aware of the fact this is not something you would leave with just anyone.
Ariel is also a top notch cuemaker who does exceptional work.

Just some thoughts

Pual Dayton (Dayton Cues) or Ted Harris are both very good and very relliable here in Fl.

Has Ted Harris rehabilitated or is this the same Harris who screwed people over a few years ago and was catching s**t for it by everyone here.
