One more bit of fun news:

I am awaiting word from the seller who is checking with his mom to see about getting me copies of her pictures with Francis (his grandfather) sitting on his livingroom couch flanked by Fats and Mosconi. The grandson reports that his granddad and Willie were good friends.

The seller believes Willie is holding this cue in the pics.

I will add those when I get them.

Best,
Brian kc

Woo hoo is right, KC...nice find

The case looks marvelous....and the cue also.

But you gotta lose the wrap...suspect it's after-market anyway.

regards
pt..<..who hates wrap....disco sucks also

You guys don't like the wrap? What, it's double-pressed duct tape -- very en vogue right now. Just ask the AZB user Pushout to testify to this. He, for the life of him, can't understand why folks don't like double-pressed duct tape. :p

All kidding aside, that's one HECK of a find, Brian, and some real "stick-to-it-iveness" investigatory skills. And you reaped the rewards. Damn, I wish I had me some free time to be trollin' eBay for stuff like that! :o

Great find and thanks for sharing.

Can you post up the eBay link? I'm curious about the page. I've tried doing a search in cues and antiques and using all descriptions I can think of that would have been used. Thanks.

Way to go Brian. Its nice to get a score once in a life time and better when it goes to a good guy like you.
Wanna trade that for a couple of brand new, never used antique kerosene train lanterns.

I got a couple for free and been trying to find some train enthusiasts for a long time.
Any pool playing millionaire rail road buffs on AZ?

And I'll second that. Chris is a great guy and will help anyone out with his knowledge.

Schmuck:rolleyes: Great find Brian!!

Brian picked up the case and cue for a song. (Get it? Brian's song nyuk nyuk).

A couple of people have asked me about the wrap.

The cue was probably cut originally with a leather wrap. Brunswick used a thick leather so the channel is deep. At some time, the cue owner proabaly wanted to replace the leather with linen. My assumption is someone filled the wrap area with some sort of resin compatible foil sheet, cut a seam in it and covered it with resin, then perhaps put linen on it or just played with it wrapless.
