losing it back

There are a million stories like that. There is at least one the other way, though. Archie Karras took a borrowed $10,000 stake to Vegas and, in one of gambling's all time best rushes, turned it into better than $17 million.
If I am not mistaken I think that he perty much lost all of his winnings bact to the same casino.

He still has some money Im pretty sure.

In May he played Breedlove for $300/game or so. Archie was getting the 7 and then the 6 and George had to play one handed!. Archie wound up 3 games i believe.

Zerostroke,

Im not sure of much anymore but i was there and that is what i was told. I left and George was a game up or so-I talked to Archie the next day and he told me "I got up 3 games and he quit".

He also bemoaned the whole crowd -that no one was coming to play him. "They're afraid they might win something". he said. Anyway, it is possible i was given some wrong info.

I thought he was up over 20 mil at Binions?
After a year, it was all gone.
Last time I saw Archie, he was playing $20 a game of one-pocket at HT.
There's a movie waiting for this guy.

And the last time i saw archie was at the LV cue club around the middle of may playing someone named OJ (Perhaps a local player ?) for a benj a rack getting the 6 and the 7. Went back and forth for 3 hours until eventually OJ couldn't fade archie's act anymore, as well as his play was going steadily downhill so he bailed, leaving archie several games winner. My buddies tried to goad me into jumping up, but even though I felt i had a chance giving him that spot, after hearing the stories about him (I heard his score was in the 30's large), i didn't think a stranger had a chance of getting down with him. Plus he's got more shark moves then all the JAWS movies combined with me being an out of towner and all...well let's just say the ladies of the LVCC this particular evening looked like the better bet.....at least from an enjoyment point of view.:D

And proceeded to lose it all back.

I knew a guy whose parents retired with 800K

Every other day they were on the bus to AC.

The son tried to intervene when they were down to 500K, 400K, 200K etc. It was always " it's our only fun son, we really enjoy it".

It took less than 18 months to blow every cent of their savings. From sitting pretty to dead busted living 100% on social security just like that.

At least they had social security to fall back on. You're not dead broke busted when you've got a check coming in every month. I wish I had a monthly check coming in.
