Billiards Digest POW-MIA CUE- BETRAYAL

I've had my own run-in with Mason King. It's very trivial compared to what you have been through, but suffice it to say, I'll never deal with King again. I will say that it had to do with a copyright issue and I approached them when I needn't have out of a sense of right and wrong. Jerk.

Welcome to Thunder Alley the home for brothers and sisters of the MIA's and POW's during Rolling Thunder Weekend in Washington, DC.
As another Vietnam ERA Vet, I too would love to see pictures.

I have plenty of photographs and will post them up soon. I haven't decided how to post them but it will be here on AZ. I doubt if I will be able to post the really high resolution files as they are EXTREMELY LARGE.

Thanks to EVERYONE for your words of empathy and friendship.

hope.

One can only hope that it might make it into the Annual cue issue in April, otherwise shame on them for not making good on their promises... If it dosen't make it. Well then I guess no subscription for this guy.....

Well someone at Billiards Digest made a HUGE marketing mistake..Joey being that your a Nam Vet they could have ran a small story with it and tapped into the pool playing Military...then some business's wonder why they are having problems making it in our economy..i can't wait to see the pics here ...nice job...:)

Wow!!!!

Joey, I have just copied and pasted your original post on Billiards Digest discussion board. Let's see how long it remains up. http://www.billiardsdigest.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=270854#Post270854

They have 2 online, and 3 unknown visitors.

Joey, I was too young to go to Vietnam, but had 3 brothers over there at one time. Thank God they all returned safe. I think having this cue built, was very thoughtful of you. There are a lot of OUR guys still missing, and it's something that the American public should never forget. In the mid 80's, I played music with one of the top country bands around here, and we used to donate time to play at fundraisers for the local VN Vet organization.
As for what they did to you, that is absolutely rediculous. They will lose a lot of support from the people of this board on that move.

Joey, I only know you from here. I don't know Mason from *shinola* but BD has received their last monies from me. I would like to quote too many posts on here to do so but will go back through and give an awful lot of them green.

I would love to see pictures of the cue anyway I can, email, posted, wherever.

You know I don't hold you being a marine against you:D

JoeyA, I only know you from your posts & threads on here and you are obviously a stand up guy. Correct me if I am wrong here but I don't think BD putting your cue in their mag at this point is what you want. You wanted them to put it in because THEY wanted to put it in not because they were pressured into putting it in. It seems like everyone one here is behind you including myself and I agree with some of the other posts that say "take it somewhere else to be published". I am sorry this has happened to you.

Can't wait to see the pics

I am a Bender fan. Great story about the cue and too bad BD missed out on a great opportunity. Joey I have enjoyed your post- you are obviously a knowledgeable player

I would not give up hope on it all just yet. I would imagine that someone will bring this to their attention.

The opposite

I pledge to subscribe to BD if they run the pics and story. Is there anyone with me?

pow-mia cue

I'm a fellow combat wounded Viet Nam Vet, thank you for your service, enjoy your cue. I will not renew my subscription og BD.

VN Vet here also Charlie and the support being given JoeyA is awesome. I tried giving rep to all those who are supporting him and ran out. Thanks for your service as well.

Everyone has jumped on Joey's bandwagon for this one. I for one, wonder what the other side of the story is.
But that's just me. I'm the curious type.

JA is, to many of us, a brother.

As long as he's not a mass murderer, pedophile, etc. there is no other side.

Adam>>>>>>>>>>also considers you a brother because your a long term pool scoundrel, action maker who's been an asset to the game.

Take care...

It is nice to meet you even this way Charlie. I salute you and all of our veterans. If I ever pass your way, please say hello and remind me of your service. It would be an honor to meet you in person.

Thank you for your service to our country.

I'm not sure what you are suggesting.

Jay, since you are such a "cool curious type", I suggest you call Billiards Digest and speak to the Managing Editor, Mason King.

Better yet, correspond with him via email and share his response with the entire AZ Forum. You have my permission to do that.

You don't have my permission to attempt to insinuate innuendos and attempt to smear my good name.

You do have my permission to woof at me to your heart's content in other threads that are not of such a personal nature, got it?

JoeyA

P.S. If you need Mason's email address PM me and I will send it to you. In spite of what he has done, I don't want to see him receiving any hate mail from anyone.

So, Joey, have you posted pics of your cue anywhere?... if so, pls steer me in the right direction. I wanna see it. Thanks, brother. ;)

Give me just a little more time. Another AZer has volunteered to help with the project. The files are rather large and I don't know if or how to upload them to AZ. I'd rather not upload the low resolution stuff because it doesn't do the cue justice.
Thansk,
JoeyA

don't have long have to go to work....

I would just like to say that I had the pleasure of not only seeing JoeyA's cue but actually hitting a few balls with it and it is a beautiful cue and a nice hitting cue as well. I feel bad that it wasn't showcased as it and the case are a true testament to the brave american soldiers who have been lost or had to go through a terrible experience. I wish I had the time to write more, but I am late for work.

Sorry to hear about that Joey.

JoeyA, RascalDoc,
Hopefully someday our paths will cross, it would be a pleasure meeting and speaking with you. I also want to thank all our brother and sister Vets for the tremendous job they do on a daily basis. God Bless the USA. If Masson King of Billiards Digest is reading this post, why did you mislead and lie to JoeyA?
Regards,
Charlie

Joey, I don't think he was smearing your name at all. He simply stated that there are two sides to every story and we've only heard one. He didn't insinuate anything bad at all. I've known Mason for a couple years and would like to hear his side, as well. And I still want to see pictures of your cue!!
