Billy Incardona

About a pound of swiss

You must think somebody's gonna get shot full of holes, like Swiss cheese. :grin-square:

There is an Accu-Stat tape (I think it was Troy Frank vs. Efren, 9 ball finals at the first DCC), where he refers to a player sh*tting a ball in...and then quietly said, "Oops".

That's my Billy boy. He just doesn't like to curse. He's always the ultimate gentleman.

I didn't mean any disrespect to Billy i do think he's very spot on with he commentary. I just heard him say a few small obvious things that made me chuckle

Something like Madden would say..

Billy is the voice of pool that was an still is his life. My 2nd.pick is Charlie Bryant, Has a lot of knowledge. For some of us we learn a lot by lessening:cool:

duties of a commentor

Ahahaha

He just explains the obvious and just some of his comments on the play of the game is just so elementary. Its amusing most of the time but there are other times that he just grates on my nerves.

i think Billy is an excellent commentator but he has to speak to many skill levels - journalists are encouraged to write at the grade 10 level - the phd's and mensa members have to fade this -- i like the Billy and Double D combo, they tend to kick it up a notch

Billy is one of my favorites.

Same here. IMO, videotaped and streaming professional pool matches with commentary are one of the greatest learning resources we have available to us. Some of the most insightful and instructive conversations about shot selection and strategy I have ever heard took place while Billy was in the booth. He and Danny are at the top of my list of preferred commentators, mostly because I know my odds of learning something jump exponentially when one or both of them are in the booth.

Is it me or is he the John Madden of pool?? I cant stand it anymore. Its almost as if he floats in and out of the commentary. Anyone else feel this way???

Wow, you started a thread to slag one of the most interesting
characters in pool.

Bully for you, it's so easy to chit on people from in front
of your keyboard.

Don't start any positive threads just the ones
where you want to rag on someone.

I would rather listen to Billy any day.

Billy is one of my favorites when it comes to commentating. I would watch Rosie and Oprah play, if he was on the mic.

I must admit, I do smile when I hear the word "reposition" though. (You will hear that word frequently in his commentary)

There's something weird about me, that I pick up something about anyone I hear speak for a length of time, it can be something that bothers me or something that just brings a smile.

Billy is the real deal. He's respected for many things... 9 ball champion, a great matchmaker, a guy that's got a lot of gamble, a great one-pocket player and a great teacher. He's kind enough to grace Steve Booth's onepocket.org site, along with other champions, and explain shots in detail. Not just "I would 2 rail the 3" .. he describes a complete picture of the plus's and minus's of that shot and any others that may be possible.

I heard one of him and Freddie the Beard, and that was very enjoyable too. I could listen to guys like those 2, tell stories for years on end.

Like i said above i wasnt disrepecting Billy at all. I just said that he does sound like madden on occasion.

That and im really tired so maybe the way i typed it came out the wrong way.

Billy is the best. I loved the back and forth with he and Grady.

I've got a tape with Billy and Grady and in the middle of the match, Grady says "well, now its perfectly clear why you have failed to win any billiards tournament of any consequence..." The booth erupted. Just hilarious. Funnier still was the fact that Captain Hook was in the booth and settled the disagreement. I don't think Billy even raised his voice. Without a doubt, Billy is THE best pool commentator of all time. He used to do a hell of a job at the US Open, too......his pencil was always going, if you know what I mean. Wink, wink. Oh, he's one of the few guys I've met that looked better as he got older. Love the Cardone.

Billy and Danny

I like their commentary the best! I think Billy is great as a commentator and was one of the best players ever!

Billy is my hero. A true gentleman and a gambler that played a mean game. It ain't bragging when you've done it and he should do some bragging. Johnnyt

I also like Billy's commentary alot but I would like to hear him use the word position(including other forms such as reposition etc) less. I have an accustat match with him and Danny D that he uses those words at the beginning and end of EVERY SENTENCE! It's actually kinda funny :-) but seriously Billy mix it up a little buddy!! :-)

Billy Incardona is an awesome commentator. He was with King James when they commentated the Z-kick.... the z-kick. :( How can you not be privilaged to encounter that? Billy, alongside Jim Wytch, are just good ol' commentators that make me want to watch a pool game with boxes of pizza, a bowl of M&Ms on the side, extra saucy buffalo wings, with a High-Def and sitting in a killer sofa with beer holders on the arm pads. It's like watching the Super Bowl, man! But my dream team commentators are Danny Diliberto and Sid Waddell... this would definately make every match very interesting! :ok:

Jimmy mataya

Maybe you guys don't think so but I really like to throw Jimmy in there. So funny! Jimmy and Danny D. What a pair!!!
