Bludworth sale

I recently ran an early 90's Bludworth cue here on Az. Four clear pictures accompanied post. Cue is 15 to 17 yrs. old and has been used but not abused. I played with this cue until receiving a new Gilbert(roughly 7 months) and not once did i hear any of the sounds tnplayer describes. I've been buying and selling cues for more than 25yrs. and have always tried to make both ends of the deal right. I agreed to his price, paid shipping costs and ate paypal fees. I am sorry tnplayer is unhappy but i did not intentionally mislead him.

I take it you are not a business man! If a customer is not happy then you do everything in your powers to make them happy.....including giving them a refund.

The best thing to do is make sure your customer is satisfied.

man up and give a refund, or dont plan on selling on here very much, a tight community and bad deals will follow you. a good buisness will last.....just advice...........OTB

Make it right!!!!

You need to take care of this NOW. If you sell something...anything, you need to stand behind it 100%. If your customer is not happy for whatever reason, this needs to be taken care of before this gets out of hand.

Pictures of the cue would be nice to see as well. This would validate the claims made by they buyer. Either way, a bad deal for either party is not worth the headache it will lead to. This is a small community and your reputation is often the only thing you have to sway a buyer's decision. You two should work this out in private and put this to bed.

thanks for the posts everyone

I really did try to work this out with garczar privately before posting this.
I even offered to take a reduced amount for return for his trouble.
what he says about accepting the price including shipping and paypal is true.
my biggest issue is description and the lack of willingness to work with me.
hanging up on someone who is trying to work it out is bad business.
I find it hard to believe that someone selling cues for 25 yrs. doesnt know
when finish is popped and you can feel the metal and what that does to the hit. This cue does not play like a blud plays.

the response to this has been awesome and if something good comes from this is the increased respect I have for this community.
I dont have a camera worth taking pics but have a buddy that does and I am sure when we can get together there will be pics.

Thanks again guys! Joe

Buyer needs to post up pics or video of the cue making the sound or something. Both buyer/seller are barely active on this site so I can't see how anyone can side with the buyer or seller.Either way, hopefully things get sorted out.

I don't believe it matters how active buyers and sellers are on the forum, This isn't a situation where someone got scammed, the buyer received the cue, but it's obvious that he isn't happy with the cue.
The way it works on AZ is the buyer returns the cue and gets his money back.
It doesn't matter how old the cue is, and a cue built in 1994 isn't that old.
In the pool room someone buys a cue and after a couple of days isn't happy, that's typically too bad.
On AZ is doesn't work that way, and the buyer gets his money back if he isn't happy.

If the cue is repairable it may be worth it to work it out that way through a cue builder or repair shop.
This could still end up being a good deal for both people.
Not a bad cue for the price.

If you paid thru paypal, just open a dispute. And if you paid with a credit card, file a claim with them as well. As long as you didnt send the money as a gift, then you have ways to get your money back. It sounds to me like a screwing took place. Good luck to you in getting your money back. I will remember the name so I never do biz with him in the future. Here is the listing just so he cant delete it and you can show how he described the cue. And I guess it would be a tight fit if the shaft was cross threaded.

Anyone have any info on doing a paypal charge back?

Chris

Chris

Assuming the PayPal payment was funded by a credit card, the buyer opens a dispute with his credit card company (not PayPal) citing "item received not as described". His credit card company will charge PayPal back. PayPal will charge the seller back. Sooner or later the seller's attitude will change because if he doesn't accept a return he will end up being out the money and the cue.

If the PayPal payment was funded by cash, the buyer can open the same dispute with Paypal themselves but the credit card charge back is a 100% dead nuts lock to win where there Paypal dispute has much poorer odds.

Let me know if I can help.

Kevin

This is BS. You sold a guy a cue sight unseen. He's not happy with the cue, maybe he's too picky, maybe you were too loose in your description. If you are right and he's too picky, just take the cue back and resell it to a reasonable buyer and everybody will be happy. Your unwillingness to take the cue back indicates (to me at least) that you think you got over on the guy, which makes you a bad guy and a poor community member.

Do the right thing. Guarantee your sale and take the cue back.

Kevin
