I always thought that the Pinto was a Native horse. There is a difference between a Pinto, Paint and an Ap. Its all in breeding and way to hard to understand for the most part.

The Chief appears to be riding a Leopard Spotted Ap.

People tend to call a Pinto a Painted horse which is not true. I'm guilty of that too. I just call em Paints. You don't have to have a very large patch on a horse for it to be a Paint. And thats about all I know of the breed.

Either a Pinto or an Ap are excellent all round trail and western ponies tho.

My Dad thru me on a horse when i was 5. I was a horse nut. I had the good fortune to be visiting on a family trip. They had an Quarter horse and allowed me to put a saddle on it. Hardly had to rein it. Just use your knees and shift your weight and the horse knew what to do. Obviously why they are the best of cutting horses.

I think they should all take lessons from the Prancersise Girl and be required to approach the table and walk around the table doing Prancersise.

Then they could also be judged on style as well as balls pocketed.
