Last night, the Atlanta Scorpions (Johnny Archer, Dennis Hatch, Shannon Daulton) eliminated the #1 seed New Your Pride (Earl Strickland, Larry Nevel, Warren Kiamco), and have earned their way into the final match on Saturday.

Today's match will be the second of two semi-finals and will pit the Minnesota Outlaws (Thorsten Hohman, Ralf Souquet, Jesse Engel) against the Pittsburgh Poison (Shawn Putnam, Adam Smith, Sylver Ochoa).

This match will be aired live on ESPN3 at 6:30PM PST.

I can't help but wonder why there isn't someone who is officially associated with BB doing these promotional posts.

Probably because, on here, that person would get antagonized, attacked, and continuously asked to relay questions to the people running BB about explaining why something happened. Aside from the positive feedback from last night's match, every time I see BB mentioned there has been an onslaught of negative remarks. I don't know whether its justified or not, but I wouldn't post on here if I knew it would initiate a thread full of vitriol against my product.

That's called positive PR, something still lost on BB?? They need a wake-up call on this. Right now they have an opportunity to turn around the bad PR they got last year. Jump on it is all I have to say.

I agree. With the wave of positive remarks from last nights game, BB may have a second chance at reinventing their image here.

Too many smart Azbilliard posters asking too many intelligent questions about Chibby's dealings with the contractor, his ex-business partner, finances, the business plan and the million dollar payout that obviously was not ever a real deal???

When asked about season two, he does a song and dance. Hasn't it been a song since day one? That is probably the real reason!

With no Bonus Ball representative = good comments on AZB

With Bonus Ball representative = good comments get overwhelmed by negative comments; threads degrade into pi##ing matches.

Sometimes it's best to just let your customers do the PR.

Same could be said for any product/service sold on AZB: TOI review by member in which CJ doesn't participate = positive/neutral comments. If CJ joins the thread, people take potshots and the thread goes south. Etc.

This is 100% accurate. I'm not sure why things work out that way, but they do. I guess it's easy and fun, at least for some, to take potshots at those who are trying to do something new.

The esteemed Mr. Long has taken on the role of notifying the AZ Community of Bonus Ball playoffs and I thank him and others for this. After several frustrating attempts at watching streams from the official site I gave the ESPN 3 stream a shot last night and enjoyed the brilliant hi res feed on the large TV via an HDMI cable from the laptop. The rules are a mystery but I thought the announcer and the analyst the "Freezer" did a great job. Michaela Tabb was her usual amazing self and the ball gurl did her job. Sparse live crowd, maybe the free pop corn promo has ended. I would like to know if the PPV customers ever got the refunds? I had long ago written Bonus Ball off ( at least my watching t )and was surprised that everything was smooth last night and that I enjoyed it for about an hour.

Yet Steve Strain mentioned more than once how large the crowd was and the great support they were getting in Las Vegas. And many empty seats were in view. Perhaps it was just that the crowd was big relative to how many they got in the earlier days.

Why would they do anything different ? (or smart)

Amazed

I struggled through it last night. Learned the game from Barry Bremner, and personally don't care for it. That is just me, shouldn't matter to anyone else. I am amazed. They have a scoreboard, the lights change colors, and the pros still shoot the wrong ball, or shoot out of turn. The Atlanta team, even though they won, messed up three times and almost a fourth. I can't believe there isn't at least one person on a team that can keep it straight.

That in my opinion is embarrassing.

I agree it is. I liked how Frost unapologetically called them out for it on the commentary too. He said the captain should never let that happen and I agree.

Now I know why the pros don't want to play 15 ball rotation...they have to add the numbers on the balls and be able to count as high as 61. Johnnyt

my original opinion of BB has not changed and I have seen the game in person with JA himself playing. It does require great shotmaking, but the scoring and the three colored balls and the players up and down so on.............much like a chinese fire drill.

Atlanta does it once a match and it is embarrassing because no other team in the league has done it as much and some not at all. The whole arena along with the scoreboard shows who is supposed to shoot and the color, no excuse for making a mistake and your teammates can tell you also which they should.

As a long time forum member I tried to give info that I could but obviously you cannot tell people everything that is going on behind the scenes and questions about details of monies and business are private and not meant for the public. I believe most of Bonus Ball official announcements are on the home page of this site as press releases.

I want to thank Roger for doing his part to support the game and pro players by posting the match info on here.

I think the bad PR has turned around with the Philippine relief charity event tomorrow along with very good press on the local news and also being on ESPN3. You should have made the trip out Jay for tomorrows exhibition with the Philippine team vs the Bonus Ball team.
